It is finally here, and it is about time. This took a lot of work on my part and if you plan on using this walkthrough in any means of reproduction, then I ask that you to please e-mail me and let me know!
This walkthrough will be broken down into 4 parts, discs 1 through 4, and each part (disc) will be broken down into sub-catagories. This walkthrough will not contain information on how to play the game and its various functions, but there is a detailed in-game tutorial that can be accessed anytime throughout the game.

A. Basic Walkthrough
1. Balamb Garden
You start off in the Balamb Garden infirmary. After talking with the doctor and your instructor (Quistis) your next destination is your classroom. After talking to Quistis, use the computer terminal provided to you at your desk. It gives you your first two GFs, Shiva and Quezacotl. Junction one GF and set one of the abilities to draw.
Once you leave the classroom you will bump in to a girl named Selphie. On your to the elevator, talk to the student standing on the walkway, he will give you 7 cards to start you off. After the tour with Selphie, go to the front enterence, making sure use the draw point on the way. Junction the other GF to Quistis.
2. Fire Cavern
Once you leave Balamb Garden, go northeast to the Fire Cavern. If you rotate the view around the landscape you should see it. Enter a few battle along the way to stock up on some magic and to gain experience points.
When you get to the Fire Cavern, you must choose a time limit. The shorter the time you choose, the higher your seed rank will be. For beginners, 20 minutes should do fine. Don't bother using any draw points on your way, it just wastes time.
Once you encounter Ifrit, draw cure , and cast Shiva and any drawn Blizzard splells you might have acquired. In the end you get the GF Ifrit and his playing card.
3. Assault on Dollet
After you return to Garden, take Shiva back from Quistis. Go to the Library, use the draw point and search the bookshelves for the Occult Fan book. Return to the Dormitory, change and get some rest.
Go meet Quistis in the front lobby (outside the 1st floor elevator). You will meet Zell, be briefed on your mission, and form a party for the assault on Dollet.
Once you get in the car, go to Balamb City. Head to the pier and board the transport. Go outside when Seifer orders you to. After you make landfall in Dollet, give a GF to Zell, but don't give any to Seifer. During battle, let Squall and Zell draw magic while Seifer does all the dirty work. From the Town Square, your party takes off to the Communication Tower. Cross the bridge and talk to the wounded soldier. Use cold spells on Anacondaur. Once your at the cliff overlooking the front doors to the tower, Seifer decides to leave the party and Selfie arrives. Once Selfie takes off, you can either go over the cliff or right. Meet Selfie at the front doors of the tower and give her a GF.
In the tower, use the draw point, then save your game. Double check to see if your party members are at full health. Once you get to the top you meet Wedge and Biggs (and there not on your side this time). Biggs comes first. You don't need to use a lot of GF attacks, thunder spells work good against him. Eventually Wedge will goin in the battle.
After the battle with Wedge and Biggs, Elvoret swoops down. Draw the GF Siren from him, then go at him with your GF attacks. Once Elvoret is defeated, you recieve the Weopons Monthly March and other items.
Now are given 30 minutes to return to the transport. Save your game again on the first floor of the elevator. Once your outside you are attacked by X-ATM092, he will be right behind you the whole way so just run, don't slow down. When he attacks, nail it with some Thunder spells and Quezacotl until it stalls, then hold L2 and R2 to escape (you can't defeat it). On your way you will meet up with some fellow SeeD trainees, and you can hide inside the pub they came running out of to escape the mechanical spider, but I recommened you keep going or you'll miss out a cool cinema sequence. Head to the beach and watch Quistis do her stuff and pop some hot lead into the spider.
4. Balamb
After your done the mission you are back in Balamb (not the Garden, the town). Watch Seifer and his gang take off in the car on you, but that's OK, take a rest at the hotel and when you wake up, read the copy of Timber Maniacs by the save point in you room. There is also another one in the Train Station. Now is a good time too head back to Balamb Garden, but before you do you should play a couple of card games too build up your collection.
5. Back in Balamb Garden
Once your back in Balamb Garden, talk to Seifer then the Garden faculty member. Go to the third floor and after the ceremony, talk to Cid and he will give you a special item and the Battle Meter. You can now select the Test option under the tutorial also. Return to your room and change into your SeeD uniform. When Selfie approaches you and asks for help with the Garden Festival, answer "Yes".
When you get back to your dorm room, change out of your uniform, remove all GF's from the other party members, and go meet Quistis in the Training Center (on the first floor, by the parking lot). Equip Quistis with a GF and go to the secret area at the back of the Training Center (by the save point). Once you leave the Training Center you will battle Graldo and three Raldo's. You only need to nail them with some GF attacks to defeat them.
6. Your First Mission
Once again, return to your dorm room and when you wake up, pick up the the April issue of Weapons Monthly on your desk. Meet everyone at the front enterence of the Garden and give each of your party members a GF. Leave the Garden and head to Balamb Town and catch a train from there to Timber. Once your on baord, save your game.
Here is were you can find out what was in that Magical Lamp Cid gave to you. It contains the monster Diablos, but you don't have to fight him now, you can open the lamp anytime during the game. If you choose to though, stock up on cure and double spells. Draw Demi from Diablos and cast it on him. Once he is beaten, you get the GF Diablos and his playing card.
Heal your members and head to the SeeDs private cabin for Pet Pals Volume 1 and then watch your party members pass out cold.
7. Laguna, Kiros and Ward
Suddenly you find yourself in control of three strangers: Laguna, Kiros and Ward. They all have the same junctions as your party members respectively. Head north through the fields and get in the truck which will take you to Deling City. Once your there, head to the Galbadia Hotel and go downstairs to get a seat and meet Laguna's crush, Julia (she's the pianist). After a brief conversation, meet her in her room (go to the front desk and they will take you there) for a more extanded interlude. After this your party members will wake up at the Timber Station.
8. Timber Train Robbery
When you exit the train the first person you meet is a the resistance member. Give him the correct password (But the Owls are still around). Head to the train station and board the train.
Here is where Rinoa joins your party. You don't have to pay attention to the instructions given to you by Zone and Rinoa, you can get the hang of it by just doing it. After the briefing, read the pamplets on the wall in the briefing room and get the "Pet Pals Vol. 2" from Rinoa's bed. Here you can also get the rare Angelo card from playing Watts.
Hijacking the train is pretty simple, you only have to enter two sets of codes do unlock the couplings,butifthe guards spot you, you will lose a SeeD ranking and start all over. 5 minutes should be enough time though, just use L1 and R1 to look to your left and right respectively to see if the guards are coming to the window.
9. President Deling
What! The President's a fake! Here he changes into a Gergero, a giant zombie. He is weak against fire and holy attacks, and sisnce he is undead, cure spells and potions on him for more damage. A Pheonix Down should kill him instantly. Don't forget to draw some magic from him, they should be berserk and zombie. Once your done with the President, find Watt's and deboard the train.
10. Back in Timber
As soon as your off the train, go to the Pet Shop and purchase Pet Pals Vol. 3 and 4. Then make your way to the Timber Maniacs building and grab the Girl Next Door magazine and also find a copy of Timber Maniacs. Head next door of the Timber Maniacs building and talk to everyone there, then look out the second floor window to the alley. After this head to the pub and use the back door and it will take you to the alley. Follow the alley to the television station. After the talking, follow Rinoa back to the train station.
11. Laguna's Second Adventure
Exit the train station and enter the forest betwen the mountain pass. Soon after entering the forest your party will pass out again and will switch to Laguna. The scenerio will open up with Laguna, Kiros and Ward in the Centra Mines. Look for an Old Key as soon as you begin (it should be by the sawhorses). Go down to enter the next passage. Trigger the switch on the middle plate in the floor, and then trigger the switch on the one to the right. Now take a right into the next passage and then up. Examine the detonator on the ground and push the red switch and then the blue switch. Head up into the next passage and examine the boulder to find a hidden draw point. Head up, left, right and right again and you should find yourself in a wooded area where you will fight your last battle and wake up with Squall's party.
12. Galbadia Garden
As soon as you exit the forest you should see Galbadia Garden slightly to your left. Heal your party before you enter. When in the garden use any draw points you come across. After a briefing of your mission with Martine, Irvine will join your party.
13. Deling City
Leave Galbadia Garden and take the train to Deling City. Once there, hop a bus to the Caraway Mansion. Talk to the guard outside the Mansion and get the map to the Tomb of the Unknown King and also purchase the Mark. On your way to the Tomb of the Unknown King, try to get into some random battles and draw the spell Float from Thrustaevis, you'll need it!
14. Tomb of the Unknown King
Once in the tomb press and hold Select to bring up the tomb map. The gunblade should be a couple of passages ahead of you. Remember the student ID number. Don't leave yet!
15. Sacred
Head to the Eastern most chamber (keep heading to the right) and you should come upon a statue. Here you will get in to a battle with Sacred. Draw Life from him and hammer him with GF attacks. When your done, exit the chamber and keep heading right and this will take you to the Northern chamber. Undo the chain to allow the water to come through. Now exit this chamber and keep to the right again and you will end up in the Western chamber. Throw the switch to the left and exit. Now go right until you exit the tomb and heal your party and save your game. Once this is done, enter the tomb again and go striaght until you encounter a draw bridge. Cross the bridge to enter the center of the tomb.
16. Sacred and Minotaur
As soon as the battle begins cast float on your entire party. This prevents you from recieving damage from one of thier most powerful attacks. Once they are beat you recieve the new GF; Brothers, and two new cards; Sacred and Minotaur. Exit the tomb and return to Deling City.
17. A Little Side Quest
Before you go to encounter the Sorceress, take the train from Deling and go to Timber. Once your in Timber, rescue the child on the train tracks and then read the copy of Timber Maniacs from the table in the room. Now take a train to Dollet. Check in to the hotel in Dollet and get another copy of Timber Maniacs that is on the Desk. Exit the hotel and enter the bar where the SeeD trainees fled from during your exam. Head upstairs and challenge the gut to the left to a game of cards. If you beat him he will invite you in to his private room. Search the stacks of magazines in his room to find a copy of Occult Fan II, and then challenge him to a gamre of cards. If you win, you should get the Siren Card. There is also a copy of Timber Maniacs on one of the gaming tables. Take the train from Dollet back to Deling City.
18. Back in Deling City
When back in Deling City, catch the bus to Caraway Mansion. When you meet Caraway's guard, tell him the number you found on the gunblade in the Tomb of the Unknown King. Once you meet General Caraway you will be given a detailed breifing on your mission. After the breifing you will be given time to explore the city. Check yourself in to the Galbadia Hotel and save your game, there should also be a copy of Timber Maniacs when you wake up. Now return to the Mansion to select your team.
19. Rinoa Goes Alone
Since she is feeling left out, Rinoa decides to go alone. When you reach the scene with the truck parked by a building and some crates, open the manhole cover in front of the truck and go down to the sewer to get the May issue of Weapons Monthly. Go back to the street and start climbing the truck and then the adjacent building. This will lead her to Edea and a cool cinema.
20. Trapped!
After coming back to apologize to Rinoa; Quistis, Zell and Selfie get trapped in the mansion. Give them some GF's. Search the shelf that is next to the locked door. Take the cup from the shelf and put it under the statue in the left hand corner in the room. Enter the passage that opens up.
21. Iguion
As Squall, follow the same path as Rinoa (with the exception of going in to the sewer) and confront the duo Iguion. Draw the GF Carbuncle from him and attack him with some GF's (prefferably Brothers) to defeat them quickly. After they are defeated open the floor plate by the exit outside to get to the tower.
22. In Deling City's Sewer
Now you will end up with Quistis, Zell and Selfie in the sewer. As soon as your down the ladder go up in to the next passage. Open the gate to the Left and enter. Examine the ladder and it will drop across the sewage, cross the ladder and continue left. Here you will find a draw point. Go up and enter the gate to the next passage and continue going up. Enter the top gate to the right and enter to the next passage, continue to the right. You can also enter the gate in the south-eastern corner for the draw point in the passage you just came out of. Go down and left to also find a hidden draw point. To exit, jump on the water wheel to the ledge, then jump on to the second water wheel and take the gate to the right on the south wall. Keep procedeing down until you reach the passage you entered the sewer in. Take a right here until you come to another room with a water wheel. Jump on the wheel and head up until you come to a save point. Save your game here and then climb to the second floor to pull the switch.
23. Sorceress Edea
You must go through Seifer to get to Edea, but don't worry, he's a wimp. Beat him with GF attacks and he should go down quickly. When you confront Edea, cast Carbuncle on your party to repel her magical attacks and draw Life, Double and Cura from her. Keep hitting her with GF attacks until she goes down.
B. GF Locations
Quezacotl- from the tutorial in your classroom in Balamb Garden.
Shiva- same as Quezacotl.
Ifrit- beat him in the Fire Cavern.
Siren- draw her from Elvoret after you defeat Wedge and Biggs during your Dollet exam.
Diablos- recieve the Magical Lamp from Cid after you become a SeeD. Open it to fight Diablos, defeat him for the GF.
Brothers- defeat Sacred and Minotaur in the Tomb of the Unknown King.
Carbuncle- draw from Iguion in Edea's tower in Deling City.
C. Rare Card Locations for Disc 1
Mini-Mog- play the kid running laps around the first floor of Balamb Garden.
Ifrit- recieve his card after you defeat him in the Fire Cavern.
Diablos- recieve his card after defeating him (can be done anytime in the game)
Angelo- when in Timber, play Watt anytime you have the chance and beat him for the Angelo card.
Sacred- defeat Sacred in the Tomb of the Unknown King.
Minotaur- defeat Minotaur in the Tomb of the Unknown King.
Siren- defeat the man in the second floor of the bar in Dollet for the Siren card.
D. Weopons Monthly Locations
March issue- defeat Elvoret.
April issue- in Squall's room (Balamb Garden) befre your first mission to kill Edea.
May issue- in the sewer of Deling City outside of Edea's building (get with Rinoa).
