WHO WE ARE

Southern California Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is an organization that is run by people with different ranges of hearing disabilities and uses different methods of communications. Our membership will consist of people born with hearing disabilities and those who acquire hearing disabilities at any time of their lives. We also welcome those who have had their hearing disabilities remedied through surgical procedures.

OUR IMMEDIATE AGENDA

1) Enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

2) Promoting the employment of people with hearing disabilities.

3) Ensuring our young generation receive adequate education.

4) Aggressive legislative watchdog and lobbyist operations.

5) Aggressive consumer support agency watchdog operations.

6) Implementing an elaborate communications system to keep membership informed of news, policies, and activities.

7) Development of bylaws that will have procedures ensuring active support for programs that enforce the Americans with Disabilities Act written into it.

ADDITIONS TO OUR AGENDA

1) Establishing alliances with heavy duty disability organizations.

2) Developing and implementing a new transliterator-interpreter grading program.
