The story I am about to tell you is true!
The names have been changed ..... to protect the spirits.
Several years ago, on a dark misty October night, I had a few friends over for a slumber party.
As we sat around eating sinful snacks and listening to music, we became very bored. My mom,
overhearing us all complain about having nothing exciting to do, appeared in the doorway.
"Up for a little adventure girls?"
"Sure" we all shouted.
"Grab your shoes and sweaters and meet me in the car." she told us.
She drove us to a deserted country road on the southeast end of town. The moon was full,
lighting the road ahead. Suddenly she pulled off to the side of the road,
and instructed us all to lock the doors.
She grabbed a bottle of flour and got out of the car.
As we watched her through the rear window,
we saw that she was sprinkling the rear bumper and trunk of the car
with the flour?
What on earth is she doing?
She then slipped back into the car,
and we proceeded to drive down the road about a block.
When we asked her what was going on?
She simply replied with a grin ... "You'll see."
All of a sudden she stopped the car in the middle of the road.
Just ahead, up a small hill, we could see a railroad crossing.
She turned off the engine, then the lights, and told us all to sit very still.
As we sat with anticipation,
our breath caught in our chest,
the car began to rock back and forth.
Before we new it, it was moving .... on it's own ... up the hill!
We reached the tracks, the car glided over the tracks then coasted down the hill.
All on it's own! Oh my god, we screamed what just happened?
Mom calmly started the car,
flipped on the headlights
and we proceeded to drive down the road
until we saw lights coming from a gas station up ahead.
She pulled in and instructed us all to get out,
and then led us all around to the rear of the car.
Much to our amazement ....
there, on the bumper and the trunk of the car ....
were the impressions of tiny hand prints ALL over the place in the flour.
We were absolutely amazed, and chills ran down our spine.
What is this we screamed?
She then calmly explained.
"Several years ago, a bus load of small children stalled on that very train track.
A train was barreling down, and unable to stop, crashed into the bus
tragically killing all the children on board.
Legend has it, that to this very day,
if you stop your car on or near the tracks,
the spirits of those children will push you to safety".
This is a TRUE story! Or is it?
The End!
