A Look at MAHS Now

Bar
Here is a brief description of what MAHS looks like now (provided by L.P.Farkas):

Our school, now a German lower school and a residential vocational school, is currently a construction zone.  The physical plant is undergoing a major internal and external renovation.  Externally, the entire school is being sheathed in neon-colored paneling that looks and feels like matte finished composite counter-top like Formica.  The colors are wild.  The High School, which appears 90% completed, is a bright aquamarine color.  The Gym is an already graffiti-ed bright, light blue-purple.  The lower school is 50% done, with different wings having different colors, including a lime green wing. Work on the common areas such as the cafeteria and auditorium have yet to start.  Judging by their state, the renovation of the entire school was long overdue.  In addition to the paneling, the school is getting all new gutters and other aluminum or galvanized steel accents between the paneling and roof.

I found an open door in one of the Elementary School wings and explored inside.  The main hallway is being redone with new flooring and a partially lowered ceiling, possibly for air conditioning ducts.  The only wing I was able to get into was almost completely gutted.  It was getting new aluminum windows, glass and aluminum doors, tile floors, completely new bath rooms, including floors, fixtures, and new stairs.

Other changes to the school include a metal fence (fairy attractive - not chicken wire) around what used to be the High School parking lot, which now has outdoor basketball court; the addition of a rubberized outdoor basketball court/workout area on part of the field in front of the Gym; and a closed loading dock/garage-like addition to the back of the High School wing.

All in all, the school will look pretty good, but nothing like I remember it.
