Fresno is a great place from which to start your visit to Yosemite. Fresno has the only international airport in the central valley, the Fresno Yosemite Air Terminal. Fresno also has rail service via the Amtrack California San Joaquin. The distance from Fresno to Yosemite Valley is apporximately 80 miles and takes about 2 hours, if you drive straight through, although we recommend that you take your time and enjoy the sights along the way.
Fresno is the largest city in central California with a population of 354,200. It has many attractions of its own, including the Chaffee Zoological Gardens, and the Fresno Metropolitan Museum.
In early spring you can enjoy theBlossom Trail, a 63 mile self guided tour of orchards, vineyards, and other points of historical intrest.
