In Loving Memory of Jean Osborne

Jean Bremner Osborne was born on May 11, 1950 to William T. Osborne and Janet MacKay Osborne in Chatham, NJ. The youngest of three girls, Jean's older sisters are Elizabeth and Louise. Jean spent her childhood in Chatham, where she enjoyed horsebackriding and spending countless hours with her best friend, Sally, and Sally's cats. She also drew a lot and expressed her creativity in other ways, inheriting her creative flair partly from her grandmother who was an artist. Jean attended public schools and excelled academically.

Jean's mother, Janet, died from Leukemia in 1967, when Jean was only 17 years old, which was a tremendous loss. Jean graduated from Chatham High School in 1968, and attended Smith College in Northampton, MA. She graduated from the prominent women's college in 1972.

After college, Jean worked in New York as a freelance photographer and assistant to other photographers. A few years later, she moved first to Southern California, then Northern California. For the next several years, Jean engaged in a variety of pursuits including working for a film production company, in the financial services industry and in photography.

In 1984, Jean entered the University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business Administration. While she was at Berkeley, she met Jung Ho Choi, a Ph.D. student. After Jean graduated with her M.B.A in 1986, she and Jung moved to Atlanta, GA, and were married.

After a few years, Jean was divorced and moved back to the Bay Area. For the rest of her life, Jean worked as a technical writer and technical editor at various companies in Silicon Valley. She also had many passions and interests including ballroom dancing, hiking, reading, swimming, antiquing, personal growth, mindfulness meditation, yoga, and attending workshops and retreats.

Jean died on or around March 7th, 1999 from suicide. She had many friends and associates and she will be dearly missed.

(Her remains were cremated and returned to Chatham by her family.)
