OK, one year later and what has changed? Well quite a bit. First ATB Studios has been redesigned to better facilitate the recording process. I've added a Behringer 4 CH. mixer to get a cleaner/clearer sound on my recordings. New help has been enlisted to give the project a boost. In November of last year some volunteers signed up to help with the recording project.

This crew assembled at CBC now known as Journey of Faith to record Secret Deeds and Within My Heart. After 5 years finally a live band recording! Scott with all his skills was able to mix us all down to my MD 4 track recorder. The recording was good, but with 4 tracks we were limited. Then inspiration struck, why not just record the drums at JOF and bring in everybody else to record at the house. So on our next recording session we taped Secret Deeds and Within My Heart again, then we added drums only for Behind His Eyes and Too Tough. So back at the studio I mixed down the drums to my PC and began the process making new recordings. I must pause and thank Mo once again for changing up the music to Within My Heart and making this song come alive. Back at the studio I added my bass parts to all four songs and was ready for rhythm guitar. I enlisted the help of Nick Blinn to record rhythm guitar tracks on three songs. Then through a series of events I was able to get Bill Lauten to come by and record some lead vocal tracks. Our first session was Secret Deeds and on 3/4/04 we recorded Behind His Eyes. Bill's vocals have added yet another notch in the enthusiasm and quality of these recordings.
I have also opened a new site to hear my songs. They can now be previewed at MusicV2 so drop by and take a listen. I don't have the newer versions of Secret Deeds and Behind His Eyes loaded yet, but I will do that soon. You can hear the version of Secret Deeds and Within My Heart that were recorded at the church. That is all the news for now, so stay tuned and maybe soon we'll have a four song CD ready for distribution!

As promised with my new help on vocals (Mo Padilla) and my new focus on recording we've pumped out some more songs. The grand total now is up to five completed songs. What has been added you ask? Behind His Eyes, God Knew My Name and Too Tough. As usual all these great tunes can be heard at Iuma.com in MP3 or Real Audio.
I've almost forgotten to mention my new bass. It is a Michael Kelly acoustic fretless. You'll hear it's debut on Behind His Eyes.

Am I still doing this? Yes at the slowest pace possible. But have no fear progress is being made. Revelations have been made and the studio has been redesigned. So here we are almost 4 years later and still no CD. I've still been messing around with "Secret Deeds" and "Within My Heart". But now at last I'm ready to move on. I'm not sure what the next song will be, but Mo and I will be working on it real soon, I promise! You can still hear the latest song versions at Iuma.com in MP3 or Real Audio.

Another long delay, but the end result has been worth the wait. Mo Padilla has volunteered his time and we have re-recorded "Secret Deeds" and "Within My Heart". The new versions can both be heard at Iuma.com in MP3 and Real audio.

Sorry for the long delay in giving any updates on the project. Dave and I finished Within My Heart and Secret Deeds. The MP3's can be heard at http://jatjustatool.iuma.com website. Things were pretty much shut down the month of December for the holidays. Now I am waiting to clear the space in the garage so we can get back on schedule. I've also aqcuired Cakewalk Pro. This will give more than 8 audio tracks on the PC.

Bad news I've had to cancel my participation in the outreach to Russia. While deeply disappointed I am slowly recovering from these turn of events.
On a happier note I've made some more changes to ATB Studios. I've connected my 800MHz PC to MD 4-track. Finally the 4-track barrier has been breached. Secret Deeds is the first song to be recorded on the PC. Bass and guitar tracks are done and now we just need to add the vocal tracks.

Within My Heart has finally been completed and we are now working on Secret Deeds. I have collected all the money I need to go to Russia in November so when I get back I'll post an update on the trip.

Another addition to the equipment family has been added. It became quite apparent that the live stage mic I have would not be sufficient for producing a quality vocal track. So off to Mars Music and the purchase of a Marshall MXLV57M studio mic. Hopefully soon I'll have a new recording to post for you all to hear.

Thanks a million to my wonderful wife for giving the best gift! That's right my own space in the garage to set up my studio. I still like the name ATB (Aaron Tokich's Bedroom) Studios. So even though my location has changed I think the name will stick for any recording references.

Time is flying by real fast, but there appears to be some hope on the horizon. Through a chance meeting at a birthday party I've found a singer/guitarist. Dave Ower has graciously agreed to lend his talents to the project. We put down a vocal track to Within My Heart and will be recording the guitar tonight. As soon as I get it all mastered it'll be up on the web for review.

Here it is the latest addition to my collection. The curbow 5-string bass by Cort. I sold my Samick and a Gibson SG copy to purchase this new baby. I did some test recording with it and so far it is blowing away my Kawai bass. In addition to obtaining the bass I've also acquired a new lead for a vocalist. The gentleman who purchased my Samick just happens to be a Christian (God does work in mysterious ways) who leads worship for Hope Chapel Del Rey. Not only is he a bassist, but a vocalist as well. So he has a demo tape and lyrics, we'll see what happens.

December 28,2000

Well the project isn't dead just in what seems a semi permanent stall. The creativity has been progressing though. I recently bought Band in a Box 9.0 and have been remixing the songs. I am really excited about the new sound to the songs and I am still looking for that singer to help me get this project complete. I hope to post new versions of the songs soon!

Yet another toy will added to ATB studios. I am awaiting the arrival
of an Alesis Quadraverb. This will give some really nice effects to the
vocal tracks (if I ever get some recorded). There is hope I've sent a tape
and some lyric sheets out to a potentially interested party.

ATB Studios has moved to its new home. Well it is still located in
Aaron's room, but I built a cabinet to hold all my equipment. Give a
man a Rotozip saw and he goes crazy. Still looking for dedicated vocalist
to help me get this project completed. Any singers out there in the Southern
California area? If interested E-Mail me.

February 15, 2000

Equipment update, I have added an Alesis Nanoverb and Compressor to
ATB (Aaron Tokich's Bedroom) Studios. This will help give some pro
sounding effects to the vocals and overall mix. Now I just have to
learn how to use the stuff. Also a little experiment with RealText

December 8, 1999

Well scheduling has once again been the enemy in getting any further recording done. However, there
are some exciting new developments. I sold my Analog 4-track and purchased a Sony MDM-X4 Digital
4-Track. It has some great features that will help improve the quality of my recordings. So I had to
re-record all the songs I have completed to date and lay down new bass tracks. Which leads to my next
source of excitement. My Samick 5 string bass has finally arrived at the dealer and I should have it
in my hands this Friday. Hopefully this will inspire some creative juices in my bass playing. Kevin
and I haven't given up we are shooting for early January, 2000.

October 19, 1999

It has been quite sometime since my last post. The project hit a standstill for awhile because
I was unable to find a vocalist. God willing I have an able volunteer from my home of Community
Baptist Church Manhattan Beach. If all goes well Kevin Parsons will be laying down some vocal tracks
this weekend. Another development is the return of John Berkovich to the USA. John is an old friend
that I used to play with back in my High School days. Through God's grace John has come to accept
Jesus Christ as his Savior and might help me out with some live guitar. So keep a watch out, the
next time you come by the songs should be a bit more lively.

The project is going high tech with state of the art
collaboration techniques. From the CSG List Michael Novak
has volunteered to lend his voice talents to the project.
As soon as he beats a cold he is suffering from recording
will be under way.

Well I've ran into a recording stall for the moment, but
a new song has been born and is in the refining stages. It
wasn't originally intended for release, but I've decided to
include it as a tribute to my son Aaron who is autistic. The
song is called "Behind His Eyes" follow the link to review the

A new member has been added to the recording project. Ladies
and gentlemen please welcome Professional Jammer 4.0 to the
project. This program is totally awesome, it has so many parameters
you can totally customize the canned music. I'm putting it to the test
on "Run And Hide". I've got the first draft of the music complete, now
I just need to add some finishing touches. I'll still add live instruments
like Bass of course.

and a rough musical demo recorded. The song is coming together
