I have all of your books and truly miss seeing you on television. I just wanted you to know that every year I make your recipe of sauerbrauten, red cabbage, and potato dumplings for my mother who is of German ancestry. Her own parents were both dead by the time I was seven. I can barely remember sitting in my grandma's kitchen watching her cook. My mom really didn't get the cooking bug, but I did. When I made your recipe for the first time, she cried because if was so like her mother's. I have also made this meal for various friends who all swear it is better than at a German restaurant.
