Once upon a time....

Allo!! I am April (Serenity if you know me from the chats). I was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 16, 1979. There I lived across from Giasman Park, and attended a private school around the corner. We moved to Pocahontas when I was about six. Although it is a very secluded place to live, it is a beautiful place to live. We own 40 acres, and are surrounded further by a few miles of pure trees. It is very quiet, and there are beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the ridges and horizons, Here we also have four dogs; Bandit-my little border collie, Bud-a white German Shepard, Cybil- German Shepard/Coyote, and Tinker-fiest. Three horses, Buck, a Belgin/Quarter, Kitt, a registered Quarter horse, and Kirby, also a quarter hourse. Billy is our goat, and we also have 50 chickens and a pond full of fish. I have had the coolest pets, everything from salamanders and snakes, to crows and cockatiels.

The Boring Basics:

I started my musical background with a year of guitar when I was 9. (Which I forgot not long after.) But I've since re-taught myself since high school. I started teaching myself the piano/keyboard when I was 10, from an organ my aunt gave me. Although I don't "sight read" piano sheet music as naturally as taught students, it now takes me about two weeks to figure out and memorize most songs. I've played Alto saxophone from age 10 (in school) and Soprano from age 15. I played in the band for six years. I pick up the flute now and then, and I figured out a few songs on the harmonica and how it works. I am also teaching myself to play the violin. Other hobbies include: collecting Barbie Dolls, drawing, painting, writing poems, and photography. I've had two poems and a complimentary drawing published locally.

I am a member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), and was involved with The Audobon Society, The National Arbour Day Foundation, and EDF (Environmental Defense Fund).

I listen to just about all kinds of music. Anything from The Beatles to Beeethoven, and Garth Brooks to Eminem.

My best friends in the whole world are: Stephanie (who now lives in Kentucky) Hi Steph & Family!! We have been friends since the 6th grade, and together we are the biggest boy-band groupies you will ever meet!! Sharon, who I've known since I was six and whose been like a sister to me in every way. Chasity, who I've known since 2nd grade and who taught me everything about hair and make-up in Jr. High. LOL. And Amy, who I've known since 2nd grade also....what can I say, "BumCuz" LOL. Kellie, we've traveled everywhere together-Mardi Gras every year from now on! Elizabeth, who I hang out with every weekend since our second year of college. And of course Bandit, my dog, who I've had since I was eight. And HI! to all my other friends I did not name. And last, but certainly not least, Micah...a sweetheart I met when I lived elsewhere. I miss you always!

I graduated from McNairy Central High School in May of 1997 in Selmer, TN. I now attend an off-campus site of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where I hope to graduate with a BA degree in architecture/graphic arts. I moved to Louisville, KY in spring of 2001, and went to the University of Louisville, where I studied art. While I was there, I worked at Churchill Downs and was there for the Kentucky Derby.

WELL, there you have it. That's not even close to getting to know me, but you get the idea. For those of you who HAVE known me...hope you weren't too bored with the refresher course of my life. HaHa *!*!*!PEACELOVE&HAPPINESS!*!*!*!

In Loving Memory of George Harrison, who taught us all things must pass. And John Lennon, who taught us all you need is love.

A poem dedicated to those who lost their lives in the Columbine School shootings.

Check out my pictures published on and offline, by the International Library of Photography. These pics are in a category, and must be searched under my last name. All photos were taken by me, however I had to enter under two other names to abide by regulations.
