LATEST
JUNE 2007: Smith will be including another remixed and remastered Bovine Madness tune on the upcoming Del Lowell & the SMITHTONES' Boats Away EP. A superior quality version of 'Patience' is slated for the EP CD. Unfortunately, Smith does not have all of the Bovine Madness master 4-track tapes, so a revamped release of the 2003 Bovine Madness Remastered CD is not possible. However, songs in his possession will be released on future Foam Tide and Del Lowell & the SMITHTONES CDs.

OLD NEWS
APRIL 2007: Smith has gone through all of the surviving The Electric Squirrel master 4-track cassette tapes and has remixed and remastered every song for inclusion on Foam Tide's The Electric Squirrel Sessions CD. The sound quality on this CD is amazing as it coming straight from the original master 4-track tapes to digital format. Check out The Electric Squirrel Sessions page for all the details.

MAY 2006: Smith remixed and remastered the original 1988 4-track cassette for 'Six Days' on an old Fostex 280 mixer/recorder and included it on Del Lowell & the SMITHTONES' Amor Del Mar EP, the preview release for Ethereal, which has a newly recorded version of 'Six Days'. This is by far the best quality version of 'Six Days' or any other Foam Tide song to date, as it coming straight from the original master 4-track tape to digital.

MARCH 2005: Smith, as part of Del Lowell & the SMITHTONES, put out the two-disc BULLSHAT!, which has 10 remastered Smith-penned, Foam Tide-era tracks on the second disc, including four never-before released songs intended for the abandoned The Electric Squirrel project - 'la chitarra', 'Lyrl', 'Maalox Me!', and the 17-minute 'Feu d'artifice'.

SEPTEMBER 2003: To celebrate 15 years since its release, Smith took the original mixdown tapes for Foam Tide's 1988 Bovine Madness and ran them through his Fostex digital recorder and some Behringer effects and put out a Bovine Madness Remastered CD. Smith also added four remastered bonus tracks, '4th Down Friday', 'White Trash Barrio', and 'Mai Tide' from Foam Tide's 1990 committment to annoying behavior, as well as 'Still Unnamed' - a Petersen effort from Foam Tide's 1986 debut, Change Your Name.
