We are a small kennel located in Central California. We are technically breeders, however we maintain only a few quality dogs at our home in order to give each and every one of them the time and attention that they deserve. We have owned and bred American Pit Bull Terriers since 1979, however grew up around "bulldogs" from childhood. We competed in obedience matches when we were in grade school beginning our show careers in 4-H. We started with ADBA registered dogs when we were in our early years and began showing in UKC conformation shows in 1988. Before we were married in 1997 we had two seperate kennels: Shadytown Kennels and Redwood Kennels which were combined into one: Shadytown. To date, we have produced over 30 UKC Conformation Champions and numerous top ten dogs including the #1 UKC APBT in 1993, the 1999 UKC National Best of Breed winner, and the 2001 UKC National Grand Champion! We started competing a little bit in the AKC breed ring in 1988.
We have been very lucky with not only the quality of the dogs we have produced but equally important with the people that have helped us along the way. Thanks to everybody that has adopted a Shadytown dog into their family.
