Booker T bio sheet

Booker T was born 6/7/94 and was bred by Cindy Grant. He was the first litter for his sire Ch Rosend's Bo Diddley SOM, and the only litter for his dam Rosend's Rave Review (Ch Heldenbrand Jet Breaker SOM LOM daughter). From the beginning this boy was special. I first saw him at 10 weeks of age and could not get him out of my mind. 1 week later I brought him home. He finished his AKC Championship the day after turning 18 months. Pretty impressive since all his wins were in California. I proudly put his first point on him from the 6-9mo class and many reserves after that. He was finished in quick order with handler Gary Steele.

As a Class Dog
In the classes Booker T was never out of the ribbons. He never received less than a 3rd place and he only received 3 of those in his career. Two were at the huge 1995 Regionals no less! He won his classes the majority of the time. He won Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at the East Bay Boxer Club just his 2nd weekend in the ring.

As a Special in AKC
In the Best of Breed ring, Booker T is a stand out. I moved him up to BOB the weekend after he finished. This was the Golden Gate Kennel Club and he was just 18mo old. He went BOS over several older Champions. The following weekend I showed in BOB again at the huge Golden Gate Boxer Club Specialty weekend. With me handling him, he went Best of Breed over 70 Boxers and a Group 4! Was I stunned ? You betcha !
I have shown Booker T on a very limited basis since he finished. Together we have won 10 Best of Breeds and 3 Group Placements. Most of these are over top winning Specials. He has won an Award of Merit under noted Breeder/Judge Clay Haviland (breeder of the #1 Boxer 1997 "Future").

As a Special in the States Kennel Club
Booker T started out with Multiple Puppy Group 1's at just 6 months old. Since then he has been ranked the #1 Boxer in SKC for 1997. His final weekend competing in SKC was great with 3-Group 1's, a Group 2 and a BEST IN SHOW!

As a Housedog
Booker T is my best friend (next to hubby). His days are spent following me everywhere and quietly laying his head in my lap. I am convinced Booker T has not met a human or animal he did not instantly love. While I am proud of his GQ good looks, I am more proud of his loving temperament. Booker T has a heart as big as his dark eyes.

He has passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
He has also passed the American Temperament Test (ATTS).

Book Cover
May 2002 Booker T received an honor only a handful of Boxers will ever have: He was chosen at the cover of a Boxer breed book! "Living With A Boxer" was written by Sharon Hannibal. Besides being honored to have several of my Boxers in the book as illustrations, Booker T was put front and center on the cover. He was also used as the model for ideal movement and an ideal rear. Truly an honor I will treasure forever.

As I write this, Booker T has just celebrated his 10th Birthday. There are a few gray hairs, here and there; but you have to look close. His body and puppyish attitude would easily suggest a dog half his age. I have been selectively showing him in the Veterans class at local Specialties where he has been doing some nice winning. Booker T loves the ring and nothing short of death will ever take him away from it. One more time around please.......
