What To Bring To

• Big Sipper bottles or large drinking glasses -- Glasses at Hedo 3 are small. It is a long walk from the nude beach to the bar on Nola's day off. Suzette and Antoinette will fill up anything you give them with your beverage of choice. Also when the complex is at full capacity, cups are sometimes at a premium!
• Two pair of dark glasses -- Guaranteed you will lose one pair.
• Plenty of suncreen -- The best way to look like a newbie is to get red butt or baboon butt on the first day.
• A plastic bag -- Large enough to take all of the stuff you take to the beach. It should be waterproof so if it rains and you run from the nude beach to the nude bar you can leave your stuff on your chair. It is also valuable in saving your chair as people at Hedo 3 unlike at Hedo 2 don't recognize towels as a chair saver especially when yellow towels are short.
• Good pair of thongs or sandals -- A lot of the concrete walkways are very rough on feet. The tile in much of the complex is extremely slippery when it rains. Rubber soles help keep you from slipping and breaking an arm or leg or head. Floors in rooms are also slippery when wet, so watch out!
• Enough meds -- Aspirin, alka seltzer, aloe, solarcaine, hayfever pills, cold medicine etc. Some items can be bought in the gift shop but they are expensive!
• Camera and film -- Digital is best but wherever you take pictures make sure any people in photo give you permission. Sometimes the guards will stop you because of all the new No Nude Photography signs. One nude couple has been busted on two separate visits trying to take photos of clothed departing friends on the nude beach (with no one in the background)!
• Cigarettes -- Although you can buy cigarettes in the gift shop, only the Jamaican cigarettes are cheap.
• Sexy PJ's -- Needed for PJ night which is on Tuesday. This is your chance to wear your favorite Sluts R Us outfit.
• Toga accessories -- Bring whatever items you think you will need to make your toga on the Thursday night toga night. Hedo provides the sheets (although they don't yet have enough for a full occupancy....so consider whether to bring your own sheets!)but they have no safety pins or belts or strings to make your toga just right. On Toga night, the rules in the main dining room are "No Sheet, no eat!!" Also nothing under the sheet either.
• Enough clothes -- One should bring enough t-shirts and shorts to have one set per day. When it rains, stuff gets wet and does not dry easily in the room and there are no dryers. Even if you plan on being nude every day, you need clothes for eating in the main dining room or the Pastafari Restaurant! Shoes are required in Pastafari.
• A good laid back Jamaican attitude -- Everything come soon mon from your room to your phone being turned on to a written schedule of weekly events! If you bring your demanding "I want it now" American attitude, it will be a rough week and you will get ulcers.

• Hair dryer -- The brochure says there are hair dryers in every room. Bring one though if you want strong heat.
• A single or double raft -- Rafts are great for lying around on the nude beach or nude pool. If you get the one with holes, it can double as a portable bar. The sixteen holer is just perfect for a group of eight with double drinks for all! There are far more rafts than last year at this time but not enough for everyone on the nude beach yet. Of course, you can help rectify that problem by leaving your raft when you leave.
• A roll of yellow police crime plastic ribbon --This is a good item to help stake out your chairs and umbrellas for the next day. Rules say you can not reserve a chair until after midnight. Make sure to tie the ribbon around both your chair and the umbrella you desire.Umbrellas are few and are at a premium and move around a lot.
• CD's -- There are quality CD players in every room. Also the bartenders and DJ's in the disco will play your favorites if you ask.
• A neck chain if you don't plan on getting a deposit box key so you can put your newly drilled plastic room key on it and around your neck.
• A rake -- If you play volleyball, a rake is handy to rake sand and get rid of the many rocks on the volleyball area that hurt your feet.
• A portable refrigerator -- Most rooms don't have one so if you want to keep beverages cold in your room, this is a necessity.
• Popcorn salt -- There is a great popcorn machine at the nude grill but no salt for it.
• Meat Tenderizer -- In case you get stung by a black or red sea urchin or jellyfish and have no friends to pee on it, use the tenderizer to reduce swelling and pain. The good news is that there are not the number of sea urchins and jellyfish at Hedo 3 as at Hedo 2.
• Money -- Money is only necessary to buy photos from Hedo photographer ($7 a piece), items in the gift shop or to go on various tours offered by Hedo. They do accept credit cards also though. About $200 is about right. Leave it in your safe deposit box in your room until you need it.
  Items Not to Bring
  • Iron and Ironing Board -- Every room does have these items!
  • Volley ball/basketball -- Entertainment staff has the volleyballs. Ask any of them for it. Basketball is either under the basket or in the billiards room.
  • Towels -- Plenty of nice big yellow beach towels although there is occasionally a shortage. When place is at full capacity, you want to keep the towels with you as towels do get hard to find then.
  • Snorkelling equipment -- Resort has plenty of these and fins at the Sports Shop by the Prude Beach. They also have life jackets for going out on boats or snorkelling.
  • Sailboat -- They provide you with one if you want from the Sports Shack. They provide Sunbirds and catamarans.

  Trivia question of Hedo == Where is the Hedo designer's signature and what is it??? Hint: Look to teh eastern part of the complex.

  Other Hints

  • While you need no reservations for the Jamaican restaurant, you must have them for Pastafari, the Italian sit down restaurant and Munihana's, the Japanese restaurant. Make them with Simone or Leslie in the main office during the day and the front lobby desk after hours. You can now make reservations for a whole week in advance.
  • Looking for a quiet spot to just sit, drink or read? Try the Wedding Gazebo between the nude pool and the Jamaican restaurant or the Sunset Bar above the Jamamican restaurant. Sunsets at either spot are fantastic!
  • Want to drive the staff mad? Sit in the bus stops and ask passing staff when the next bus is coming. After getting bored with that, make love in them. Just know you won't be the first to do that!!
