    LISA UPDATES:
  • (3/2004):FINAL SEMESTER-- This semester I am juggling 4th graders and their budding attitudes after falling in love with my first graders from last semester. On the bright side I passed ALL of my required tests! That's $500 I spent to take them too. As the final weeks wind down, I wonder how crazy I really am!

  • (2/2004): DIIISNEYLAND!-- Mona, Cindy, and I splurged and bought Annual Passes to both parks!! Cherry cokes and Fantasia ice cream...and plenty more wearing hoods on Splash Mountain!

  • (2/2004): Ventura Weekend-- Charley and I took a long V-Day weekend at Ventura Beach. We had an ocean view, walks on the pier, tasty dinners (including birthday sushi), and relaxing moments with wine or champagne. <3

  • (1/2004):Bringing in the New Year-- A warm welcome to my new roommate Kristin and her kitty Boo. I could not have asked for more thoughtful additions to the apartment. I also miss Jenn and wish her the best over on the east coast!!

  • (11/2003):My Kind of Town: Chicago-- (?) Okay, well not exactly but Leslie and I went for a weekend and I loved it! We even got a little snow flurry! We relaxed, sampled poor deep dish pizza (dont ever order plain cheese unless you want stewed tomatoes on TOP), froze our little booties off on State Street and took in the town from the top of the Sears Tower.

  • (10/2003): The GOOD, the BAD, and the IN BETWEEN -- I graduated from SDSU in May and have since begun my student teaching in the Chula Vista district! I'm still working at Jack in the Box VERY part time and for the first time I have an actual commute! I moved out of my parents' quarters in July and have learned the positives and negatives to "freedom." In less than a month I will be venturing to Chicago for a weekend with Leslie, and then the holidays will be here before I know it!

  • (04/2003): PARIS!-- Charley took me to Paris! It was absolutely beautiful. French people were amazingly gracious (even given their scandals), the CREPES and WINE and sandwiches and pastries were beyond imaginable. The scenery was well, scenic, and French people stereotypically singing in the streets and one of my favorite moments was just us in our tiny hotel room with windows that opened out to a view and the sound of traditional french music (sounds kind of accordian like?) was wafting in...it was dreamlike. Public Service Announcement: do NOT fly AirTahiti =)

    LISA FACTS:

    This is me, Lisa. I am the rare and illustrious Koala. Soon to be 24 and residing here in my native habitat: Southern California, where I now live with another future teacher Kristin. Living with her means that I get a discount at Victoria's Secret! Over 100 pairs and still collecting! Some other things you should know: I will have my teaching credential in MAY and will be stressfully looking for a job. If I am not crazy now, I soon will be. <=/ I love happy hours, sex and the city, traveling, mexican food, my keeties (Tigger, Baby Phoenix, and now Boo), Disneyland, Durango, Ireland, crepes in Paris, and most recently--BEER! If you haven't noticed, I hardly ever update this site.
