Get Missingno.
Red and Blue only.
NOTE: MISSINGNO. CAN ERASE YOUR SAVED GAME AND SCREW UP YOUR GRAPHICS, AMONG OTHER BAD THINGS.
Go to Cinnibar Island. Trade with one of the people in the research lab. Then Surf up and down the right coastline until you get into a battle. The screen will go black for 5-10 seconds then Missingno. will appear!

Get Missingno. and Mysterio
Red and Blue only.
NOTE: MISSINGNO. AND MYSTERIO CAN ERASE YOUR SAVED GAME AND SCREW UP YOUR GRAPHICS, AMONG OTHER BAD THINGS.
Talk to the guy in Viridian City who won't let you by without Oak's Parcel. When he asks if you're in a hurry, say no. When he's finished talking, go to Cinnibar Island and swim up and down the east coast. If you get into a battle and the screen goes black for 5-10 seconds before the battle begins, you'll fight either a Missingno. or a Mysterio from Level 0-147! "Mysterio" is really a nickname for a Pokémon with a name made out of symbols. It is the same number as Missingno. (#000) with the same attacks, type, and appearance. The only reason I classify it as a different Pokémon is because it has a different cry. You can also find Pokémon at levels above 100.

Duplicate Pokémon
All Game Boy/Game Boy Color versions only.
Trade the Pokémon you want duplicated with any Pokémon. Trade with someone who has the opposite version. (If you have Blue, find someone with Red.) Trade it. When "Waiting!" disappears, turn the game off. (You, not the person you're trading with.) You both have the Pokémon you wanted duplicated.

Get Any Ball to Work Like a Masterball
All Game Boy/Game Boy Color versions only.
Simply press "UP" and "B" the second the Ball leaves your hand. If you time it right, the Pokémon will instantly be caught!

Get Any Pokémon to Appear at Cinnibar Island
Red and Blue only.
Go to any field or cave where there are Pokémon. Find one and run away. Go to Cinnibar Island and Surf up and down the east coast. It should look like you are half on water and half on land. You will run into Pokémon from the field or cave that you were at!

Get Missingno., Mysterio, Duplicate Items, and Catch Pokémon Over Level 100 All at Once
Red and Blue only.
NOTE: MYSTERIO AND MISSINGNO. CAN ERASE YOUR SAVED GAME AND SCREW UP YOUR GRAPHICS, AMONG OTHER BAD THINGS.
Go to Viridian City and talk to the man who taught you how to catch a Weedle (He is near the Gym where you face Giovanni). Reply "No" to his question, then watch him catch a Weedle. Then, place the Item you want 99 of as number six from the top of your Item List (We recommend the Master Ball if you still have it). To switch Items, press Select while pointing to an Item, then move the arrow where you want the Item to go and push Select again. Both Items will switch places. Now, Fly to Cinnabar Island and start Surfing along the east coast of it. You will face Mysterios and Missingno.s. "Mysterio" is really a nickname for a Pokémon with a name made out of symbols. It is the same number as Missingno. (#000) with the same attacks, type, and appearance. The only reason I classify it as a different Pokémon is because it has a different cry. Defeat one but DO NOT run away. When it is defeated, you will have over 100 of the sixth item on your list! If you want to repeat this trick, you'll need to talk to the man again. This trick also works when you capture Missingno./Mysterio. If you continue to Surf along the coast, you will face Pokémon that are Level 175 and can give you over 3000 Exp. Points! You can also duplicate expensive Items and sell them back to earn lots of money!

Get a Super Strong Missingno.
Red and Blue only.
NOTE: MISSINGNO. CAN ERASE YOUR SAVED GAME AND SCREW UP YOUR GRAPHICS, AMONG OTHER BAD THINGS.
Catch a Missingno. above Level 100 using one of the Missingno. codes. Use the "How To Get Missingno./Get Mysterio/Duplicate Items/Get Over Level 100 Pokémon" code to duplicate Carboses, Proteins, HP Ups, Calciums, and Irons. Use those Items on it until it won't let you use any more, then raise it to Level 255 using duplicated Rare Candies. Look at its stats. It will be super strong! If you did not max out its stats, use another Rare Candy and raise it to Level 0. Max out its stats and raise it to Level 100. It will be very strong, but not as strong as it would have been.

Catch Mewtwo Easily
Red and Blue only.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE NEVER USED THE MISSINGNO. CODE IN YOUR GAME BEFORE AND NOT CAUGHT MEWTWO FOR THIS TO WORK.
Walk around in the Unknown Dungeon for a while, then go to Seafoam Island. Surf up and down the right side where it's half water, half land. You will eventually run into a Level 41 Mewtwo!

Get Amnesia Psyduck
Pokémon Stadium only.
Register all 151 Pokémon in the Hall of Fame, either rental Pokémon or your own. You are then awarded a free Amnesia Psyduck. It has a huge Special, and knows Amnesia to raise its Special even higher!

Get Surfing Pikachu
Pokémon Stadium only.
Include a Game Boy, not rental, Pikachu in your team. Do not register your team. Beat the Prime Cup's Master Ball Division using a three-Pokémon team that always contains Pikachu. Pikachu has to be in every one of the eight battles. Do not use any continues. If you win, you are shown an award screen with Pikachu on a surfboard. Pikachu can now use the Surf technique both in battle and during Red/Blue/Yellow gameplay! In Pokémon Yellow, you can access the Surfing Pikachu mini-game.

Cut Away Tall Grass
All Game Boy/Game Boy Color versions only.
Use the HM Cut on tall grass, and it will cut away a 2 by 2 square of grass.

Easily Avoid Koga's Invisible Walls
Red, Blue, and Yellow only.
The floor in the Gym has lines on it. In some areas, you will see gaps in the lines. These are the invisible walls!

Win Often at the Celedon Slots
All Game Boy/Game Boy Color versions only.
All of the slot machines have different odds. The odds change every time. Play a machine 4 times, and you win twice or more, this is probably one with good odds. If the slow slot machine forces you extremely close to a 777 or Bar Bar Bar it will probably give you one or the other shortly.

Train Weak Pokémon Easily
All Game Boy/Game Boy Color versions only.
Put the weak Pokémon at the top of your team. Switch it with a strong Pokémon when the battle starts, or whenever your foe changes Pokémon. Both the strong Pokémon and the weak one will get experience, but the experience will be divided between them.

Find Coins in the Game Corner
All Game Boy/Game Boy Color versions only.
You normally can get hidden items in the game by walking while tapping A. Do this in the Game Corner, and you'll find coins!

Walk on Top of a Tree
Red, Blue, and Yellow only.
Cut down a tree with the HM Cut. Stand where the tree used to be. Save and turn off the game. When you restart, you'll be on top of the tree!

Get Soft Sand
Gold and Silver only.
Go to the Daycare and cross to the left side of the screen. Surf on the river and go south. Eventually you will see a strip of land going through the fence. There is no reason to stop here. Keep Surfing south. Eventually you will come to Secret Island. There are three Cooltrainers. They use Water Pokémon with levels in the 20's. One of the toughest is a Seaking, so bring Grass or Electric Pokémon at Level 20 or more or other Pokémon at Level 30 or more. Beat all three and one will give you Soft Sand, which powers up Ground attacks. This is the only way to get Soft Sand without a GameShark.
