Here's a little about me. I'm American by birth, but I'm Irish by blood, heart, and soul, and right proud of it. I live in the San Francisco Bay area. It's an, umm, interesting place to live.
Oriah Mountain Dreamer, a native American elder, once said,
"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare dream of meeting your heart's longing. I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy. I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's not a pretty day, and if you can source your life from God's presence. It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away."
If you are curious about the stuff at the top of the page, here's what it's all about. The title is Irish (Irish Gaelic) for "Fortress (or Village) of Harrigan". The two heraldic shields are both the heraldry of my name, one being more common to County Cork, and the other being more common to County Kerry, Ireland. The words directly underneath them are also Irish. An Uachtar translates loosely to something like "the Top", "the Best", or "the Champion". O hArragain Abu translates to "Victory for Harrigan", or something to that effect, and was a common war cry back in the old days in Ireland.

Here's my bit of wisdom for this week. I went to a show at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma this weekend and saw Goldfinger and a band from LA called Hepcat. If you are a fan of punk music, or ska/swing/reggae, this was the place to be! As usual, kids, I have to include the admonition to play safe, but in addition, I have to tell you, GO SEE GOLDFINGER! Jeremiah hasn't, but he is missing out! This band rocks! Mosh pit and crowd surfing galore! A punk-lover's paradise!
