Hannah Lingrell is a local singer/songwriter of the Sacramento area. Her sound is intimate and full, accompanied by an acoustic guitar and a haunting Celtic voice. Hannah has been writing songs for a few years and has been playing in Sacramento and surrounding areas. During her first 6 months solo, she played with larger acts such as Jackpot, Diane Patterson, Jonah Matranga of Far, Orisha (now Birthday), Jacob Golden, and was nominated for a 1999 Reader's Choice SAMMIE in the folk category. She spent the 1999-2000 year in Spain where she played numerous shows, and this year has returned to Sacramento to continue her performances.
Hannah got her start in music by writing and singing back-up vocals in the Orchids (featuring Anthony Prest of the current band, the Bouncing Bettys), then later sang alongside Joan Hawkins in the Flesh Petals. Her backing vocals are also featured on David Houston's "New Old CD," the Kevin Seconds tribute compilation as well as The Bands Who Stole Christmas CD with Far's Jonah Matranga. In May of 1999, Hannah released a six song solo EP "Everything Changes" which is available at her live shows, and is currently working on a new CD.
