On April 1, 2000 the Foothills of San Marcos reached the milestone of being a "resident owned" Manufactured Home Park for ten years. The park originated as a "rental" park but in 1990 the residents got together and purchased the park from it's original owner. On April 14, 2000 the residents held a gala anniversary celebration in the Clubhouse.

The celebration was well attended by residents.
Members of the Negotiating Team and Original Board of Directors spoke of the early days of Park ownership.
