From the President:

Our meeting this month on Wednesday the 18th is only ten days before the show. There is a lot yet for everyone to do in preparation.

The two most significant problems we have are regarding the Donation Trees and the Display Trees.

First, we have recorded only 46 donation trees as of March 31. Twelve of these have not yet been priced by Kay. Remember that donation tree sales are the primary means of raising the money to pay for the more than $2500 cost of putting on the show. Last year we had over 200 trees for sale and still lost money. We have asked for four donation trees from each member and if everyone complies we will still have only 80 trees. I think everyone can see we have a problem here. We need to have everyone bring their trees that have not been priced. A few members have not presented any trees for donation and as indicated above 12 trees have been offered but not priced. I will have the donation tree list at the meeting. Remember we will not have time during the show setup on Friday evening to have trees priced.

Our second significant problem is with the number of display trees. We normally have at least 60 trees on display to make it worthwhile for the public and it is K’s expectation that this year will be no different. As of March 31 we only have 38 trees which have been offered and reviewed by K for display. Again we have several members who have not listed their trees and this information is necessary to plan the layout of the tables for the show. I will also have the list of display trees we know about to date at the meeting.

Lastly we need to be sure everyone is signed up with the various committee chairpersons for there assignments during the show. Our hope is that, just as last year, all members will turn out for Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday and we will have a successful show.
