Susan & Orion in Tustin, Dec. 2009 Susan & Aurora at hom, Dec. 2009

Aurora: She's in 1st grade now and doing well. She enjoys her weekly piano lessons and gymnastics class. She enjoys dressing up for any excuse - I'm constantly getting compliments on what she's wearing, LOL.

Orion: He's in an afternoon preschool class and loves it dearly. I think his favorite thing is to ride bikes there, as that is what I hear about each time. He also seems to enjoy being group leader when it's his turn.

Orion is still a game fanatic. His current favorite is Monopoly (regular edition). His favorite property - what else? - is Boardwalk.

Kirk: He's working at Ocotillo Wells State Park, east of Borrego Springs. His latest hobbies include playing D&D (playing an incredibly stubborn dwarf named Yak), watching Battlestar Galactica, and planning for the end of the world.

Tien: She's off to Phoenix, I think, tomorrow. More pictures to take!

Susan: I'm excited to be taking a night class at Palomar this Spring - Geology 150, Dinosaurs, with the reknown Dr. Spears.

Besides homeschooling the kiddos, I'm active with our school's PTO. I still scrapbook at least once a month though I wish it could be more! I'm also playing D&D once or twice a month... currently I'm playing a 4th level halfling scout.

My Top Five Favorite Teas:

Please keep in mind that green tea (or white tea) can be a bit of an acquired taste. If you're new to green teas, you may want to start with something fruity to ease your transition.

Books: (any links supplied to books will direct you to that particular book on Amazon.com)

This last month I read The Tale of Desperaux by Kate DiCamillo. I read most of it outloud to Aurora and Orion. I also read the funkiest book I'd read in a loooong time - Paradox by John Meaney. Whoa, seriously, it was a trip. It was well written, don't get me wrong, but it was hard to keep up with all the unknown words and concepts.

Theater Movies: I last saw Tale of Desperaux with Aurora. It was a nice mother/daughter afternoon.

Birthdays: January: 7th, Stanley Rohrer. 14th, Kim Johnson.
