Bács-Kiskun megye (county)

The Kiskunság is a flat open area of mostly farmland that is interspersed with areas of excellent birding habitat. It is a part of the Great Hungarian Plain, or Alföld. Alföld is Hungarian for "netherland," or lowland. Hungarians refer to Holland as the Németalföld, or "German netherland," and refer to their own netherland as the Magyar Alföld, or Hungarian netherland.

Bács-Kiskun megye székhelye Kecskemét.

The town of Kecskemét is right in the middle of the 6 areas comprising the Kiskunsági Nemzeti Park (National Park). Each of the six areas has its own unique habitat, and birds.
