Oh Rusti how you were so young
I find it hard to believe your now gone
You had a personality all your own.
My little princess so dainty and sweet.
now rest my little princess, go to sleep.
I pray that your passing was gentle as you
that you didn't suffer, and that you knew
How much you were loved right from the start
You were the little shy one that stole my heart.
Oh how i'll miss you more than you'll know.
I'll never forget you, but alas I must let you go...
I'm sorry life took you down this road
I wish I could have taken better care of my furry friend
but know this, you'll remain in my heart until the end.
I loved you rusti... my special little princess
my special little feline.
Love Linda [your mommy]
Rusti's life started from a bundle litter that was born in March 1992 She was trying to hide under a bush so I wouldn't pick her. She was the quiet one, didn't fuss...she was perfect. She was a ball of black fur with a little line of rust going down her back. My neighbor picked her up & Rusti decided to initiate her welcome :) well it was only fitting she get to name her. Rusti had such a unique personality. She would even copy some of my traits, when I was upset, she would be and no one would be allowed to pet her. She would only come to me. I wish only one thing that I had given her a better place to live. I didn't have the heart to give her up when I discovered I was allergy to her fur. She spent most of her days outside. She was good about staying around the house, but occasionally would visit neighbors.
Unfortunately my fears were confirmed. We discovered several neighbors persian cats were targeted & killed with antifreeze. I was devestated when I found this out. I even looked up the Humane society to find what criminal proceedures are for those caught being cruel to animals. I wish there was more, but the facts in California are vague. But there is a law to the effect of a fine anywhere from $1000 to $5,000. And imprisonment. There were police reports made when neighbors discovered this was a deliberate act of cruelty. Nothing has developed as far as I can see. But Rusti will always be in my heart.
I don't know if it was fortunate or not, that I've never lost an animal to death, much less this way...but the feelings I couldn't have been more hurt if it had been a human. The pain was the same. I went thru the crying, the depression before being angry.
I want to thank my true friends who supported me through this difficult time. Especially Terri Lyn.
The wonderful thing that I've learned...in the past few years... I've changed... I've accepted the precious bond that animals have with their owners... I have a siamese that protects me from spiders -sebatian. I don't know how he knows I'm allergic to spider bites... he always keeps a checkout for anything ...you can just tell in his mannerism.
NEW: Sebatian & Tigger In the limelight
Animals have proven to extend our human lives...I hope you will cherish them as much as I do.
Sebastians Brother Theodore ~~one of my beautiful Siamese's ....the one who is presented on Picture.com Under Linda Bohannon of Theodore sadly was tested after being hurt real bad with an ear infection /bite tested positive for Leukemia FIV which is extremely contagious to other cats. Its simular to aids in humans but for cats. We had no choice but to put him to rest. It was very hard, but we stayed with him & let him know till he was gone that we loved him. He was so gentle even to the end..even thou he was in so much pain. We will love & Miss you our little Teddy bear always. I'm pretty sure since we lost Theodore that Sebastian is clear from the threat. It's now been several months with no signs of illness...Thankyou God for sparing this little furbaby. They were not together except thru a screen door as Theo, our teddy bear persian loved to be outside, vs. his brother is an inside cat. Thankyou for all you who love the little ones in their lives. I am working on a poem to add here under Theodore's picture "First time seen Snow in Bakersfield 1-25-99.
Born August 1997, Died October 03, 2000. Only 3 years old.
Notice I've been given the information about a website on bonsai kittens, although the authorities have looked into this and have commented that it is a hoax, the audasity that anyone would even create a webpage like this to cause outrage is enough and should be banned. Any one with morals would not condone even the thought of this site. Thankyou now you know my views on that. :)
I've also included the Humane Society's investigation into this site, how the website has been taken down and resubmitted... apparently there are some isp that have no moral consious.
