Once upon a time not so long ago I swore that I would
never create my own X-Files fan site. I didn't think the
internet needed another one in addition to the thousands that were
already out there. Then I changed my mind (for anyone who knows me
that's not a big surprise). I originally decided to try and get it
hosted on X-Web (which has since been renamed CMU) but unfortunately
they had to start charging even for small sites, not a terrible idea
but unfortunate for someone who like me is perpetually broke.
Unfortunately by the time that announcement came down the pipes, I
was quite far along in the initial planning for The Basement Office
and I didn't want those ideas to go to waste.
Then salvation came, when someone suggested Crosswinds and I was quick to discover
that Crosswinds was not only slow but unreliable, so I ended up on Angelfire my new
web-home away from home.
So here I am and here I shall remain, until someone
demands that I shut this site down due to some vague unintended
copyright infringement or something. Remember when free speech was
actually free? Now it is only dangerous. Eventually once the
copyright laws concerning the internet become more defined I hope to
enhance this site by including all the site using all the wonderful
X-Files stuff that has been holding my hard drive hostage for the
past five years.
For now however this page will remain as such, focusing on
my own fan fiction, possibly some news and reviews and of course
awarding (& linking) my favorite X-Files sites abroad. In case
you are wondering why there aren't more pics here (trust me I have
tons) I have temporarily decided to keep the controversial
copyrighted material to a minimum, I don't want any FOX lawyer-types
threatening me. As for the copyrighted materials I have used and
altered, I have tried to do so with care and respect towards the
copyright holders (Fox Television, 1013 Productions, Chris Carter,
etc...) and I have made sure that appropriate credit has been given
where deserved. I am after all just a fan, attempting to show my
appreciation for quality television (there is so little of it
nowadays).
This site is very much a work in progress. Lots of
construction going on here folks, so watch out for falling glass and
bricks. Feel free to wander around and explore what there is and
stay tuned for much more in the future.

(What Every X-Phile Should Know but Wasn't Taught)
Articles and Links that I have researched and gathered
that pretain in general to copyright laws and their effect on the
internet, specifically those that involve and/or concern X-Philes.
Knowledge is power, and if they are going to try and shut you down
using their expensive lawyers and scare tactics it is your right to
know your rights. This is what PROTEST is all about, combating
censorship with knowledge. Also included within are links to all the
most important protest sites online. Join in and help keep the net a
safe haven for fans.
Visit the Vault: A constantly changing / growing archive
of all things X-Files, currently the contents of the vault are mostly
limited to transcribed magazine & newspaper articles (some dating
back to 1st season) and other forms of press. I am hoping to expand
this section in the coming months to include essays written by fans
and critics alike. If you have something that you think deserves a
place within this vault, e-mail me and let me know.
Still only a small department, currently just featuring my
own work: a story in progress entitled "Of Darkness and Light" and
coming soon a second novella to be titled "Voices".
