The Schick Rookie Challenge will be broadcast live nationally Saturday 2-12 at 1 p.m. PST (4 p.m. EST) by TNT,, The NBA ON ESPN Radio and TSN in Canada.

This year's rookie game won't consist of the traditional
west vs. east rookies, but the top rookies of this year
vs. the top rookies of last year. Probably because we
didn't have enough decent rookies this year to form
two teams to face each other. So for better competition,
last year's rookies get to come back once more.

The 1998 rookies were led by Vince Carter but since he
was the leading vote-getter in the Sprite NBA All-Star
game, he could not participate and was recently replaced
 by Vancouver guard Michael Dickerson.

Leading this year's rookies are Steve Francis and Elton Brand, along
with Lamar Odom which will be an exciting game to watch. Take a
look at the two rosters of the 1998 and 1999 rookies:

 PF - Elton Brand (CHI)
 PG - Steve Francis (HOU)
 SF - Adrian Griffin (BOS)
 C - Todd MacCulloch (PHI)
 PG - Andre Miller (CLE)
 SF - Lamar Odom (LAC)
 SF - James Posey (DEN)
 SF - Wally Szczerbiak (MIN)
 PF - Antawn Jamison (GS)
 PG - Mike Bibby (VAN)
 PF - Dirk Nowitzki (DAL)
 C - Raef LaFrentz (DEN)
 PG - Jason Williams (SAC)
 SG - Paul Pierce (BOS)
 C - Michael Olowokandi (LAC)
 SG - Michael Dickerson (VAN)
