Tennessee Walkers and Spotted Saddle Horses
Twist of Fate is our first and largest Tennessee Walking horse. He's a beautiful 17 hand red roan gelding. We have no papers on him because we rescued him from a feedlot. He has weasled his way into our hearts and he's here to stay. Even though we can't ride Twist until his feet heal, we have taught him to chase a soccer ball and other fun tricks. He seems to be everyone's favorite when they come to visit our place.
Jeremiah was my 22-year-old Walker/Morgan cross. We go back a long way. I bought him when he was five and we were best friends for many years. When I was working two jobs I sold him, thinking it was in his best interest. Well, when circumstances changed I started looking for him again and believe it or not I found him. He was the smoothest riding horse I ever rode.
On August 21, 2000 Jeremiah crossed over to the rainbow ridge. He will always be in my heart and there will never be a horse that can replace him. He was my true best friend and his passing will leave an empty place in my life.
Cat Joy, or Calamity (as we call her) is our first registered Walker. If you like color, she's a beautiful 16 hand, tri-color mare. She is double registered TWHBEA and SSHBEA.
Calamity has a personality that will melt your heart. She loves people and works her hardest to please.
Mac's Lady Midnite is Bob's beautiful black Tennessee Walker mare and his first gaited horse. She's 21-years-old and goes back to the old Walker lines. She has Midnight Mack K, Midnight Sun, Merry Go Boy and Panola on her top side and Mac K's Handshaker, Midnight Mack K, Gypsy Hytone and Deep Purple on her bottom side.
She has a beautiful gait and throws fantastic babies. We hope to get her bred this spring.
Party's Burning Beam is the dam of our Cajun Beam Dancer, our two-year old stud colt. She's as shiny as a new copper penny and friendly to the point of being a pest. She's finally had her baby. She had a little John (that's a boy mule) on April 6, about 11:00 p.m. His name is Darwin.
Sarah, as we call her, will be my Parelli horse. We hope to start working together and getting our level one in the next few months. She loves attention and games so, let the games begin.
Darwin is is our first mule. He's really been an experience for us as well as for his dam. He is so much more independent than a horse. When he was less than a week old he drove Sarah crazy because he kept wandering away from her. He is so much friendlier than any foal we have had and he also seems to be smarter.
At 5 months old Darwin has been ponied around the neighborhood and trailered. We've also walked him around the block without his dam. He seems to be a really quick study. He loves to have his halter on and adores attention.
Cajun Beam Dancer is double registered as a Tennessee Walker and Spotted Saddle Horse. Dancer foaled March 15, 1998 and he's already over 16 hands.
Dancer's a really mellow colt. He's not the least bit spooky and has already been started under saddle. His sire, Glynn's Ragin Cajun is a beautiful naturally gaited world champion spotted saddle horse. His dam is Patty's Burning Beam. If you go to Dancer's page, you'll see his pedigree with links to his sire and dam.
Hi View's Boy was our senior stallion and very gentle with the mares. He passed over Rainbow Bridge on Noverber 13, 2000 just befor his 25th birthday.
Blue Moon Drifter is our new colt. We're so excited about adding him to our herd. He's an April '99 baby and growing like a weed. He's double registered with SSHBEA and TWHBEA. Not only is he black and white, but he's been tested and is homozygous. Hooray, no more guessing whether or not you'll get spots, his babies are guaranteed to have spots.
Dream is the newest member of our family. She has a wonderful pedigree and is a beautiful mare. She has a bowed tendon so will be used strictly as a brood mare at least until sometime next year.
Horse Song Ranch is proud to be using Parelli methods and clicker training with our horses. The combination of the two methods has enabled us to have calm horses eager to learn.
