Our Greenies

Cross Creek has long been known for our ability to find, start, and train young horses to be successful show ring competitors. Many of our clients are seeking quality horses on a budget. Buying young horses and working with a qualified professional is one way to buy the best without having to spend the most. Below is a sample of some of the young horses we have purchased on behalf of our clients.

Corbusier

Corbusier was purchased from Sandstone Horse Sales in 2003 at The Oaks Sporthorse Auction. He was the high-selling horse at the 2003 auction, and the talk of all the professionals bidding on this year's entrants. This beautiful gelding will be shown in the jumper ring in the coming years. Corbusier is a 1998 gelding by Corrado I out of Imperial III by Campione. Corbusier has great athletic ability, nice fluid gaits and a good temperament.

UPDATE: Corbusier was champion in the Hopeful Jumpers at only his second show.

Cessna

Cessna was purchased as a two-year old directly from our neighbor, Sandstone Horse Sales. Cessna is by Sandstone Caballo out of K-Corrada by Cor de la Bryere. Cessna has been slowly and methodically started by Cris. He is now starting to jump small fences - a fraction of the size he has free-jumped.

Dekadent

Dekadent, by Deutchmeister, was purchased as a three-year old. He was bred by Glenwood Farms Hanoverians but is a registered Oldenburg. He is now beautifully broke on the flat and is game at the jumps. This horse's future is in the equitation ring where his beautiful way of going, and willing to please attitude will carry anyone to the winner's circle. Dekadent will be available for sale in 2004.

In addition to the horses above, Cris has found, started, and/or trained the following horses: Jade, (by Jupiter), Justice (by Jupiter trained by Mark Watring), Johnny Be Good (by Jupiter trained by Mark Watring), Stepping Stone, Homeward Bound (by Oklahoma Bound), Calando Z aka Milo (now trained by Diane Langer), Bentley (regular working hunter shown by Leslie Steele), Brave the Waters (by Waterway Drive), Melodic Way (by Waterway Drive).
