* 2 tbsp. beeswax
* 4 tbsp. apricot oil
* if desired add a couple of drops of any essential

Melt beeswax w/ 4 tbsp. apricot oil, add 1/2 tsp.
camphor, stirring frequently until camphor is
dissolved. Pour into small glass jars to store!

~Indian Summer Perfume~
This stuff is yummy! Very nice blend of flowers,wood
and spices! A little more advanced but definitly
worth the effort!
- 1 drop lavender oil
- 3 drops grapefriut oil
- 3 drops rose oil
- 3 drops rosewood oil
- 2 drops sandalwood oil
- 2 black currant buds
- 2 drops nutmeg oil
- 3 drops vanilla oil
** Be sure to use good quality essential oils to
ensure purity! (I prefer Aura Cacia- available at
health food stores)
For an oil based perfume-Add oils to 1/8 oz. of
Jojoba oil!
For a lighter alcohol based fragarance-add oils to
1/2 oz. of ethyl alcohol.
Shake well before each use and store in a dark bottle
in a cool dry spot.

* any type of unscented body wash or shampoo (the
cheaper the better)
* favorite herbs and/or oils

Fill jar w/ shampoo or body wash...add herbs
and/oils. Let sit for 10-14 days in a cool dark

If using herbs strain after the 10-14 days!

* 1/4 Cup ground oatmeal

water to form a paste (or you can do this in a bowl).

* 1 cup salt

~Herbal Shampoo~
Use 1 cup each of the following herbs!
* Nettle
* Spearmint
* Rosemary
* Cloves
* 1 bottle of unscented shampoo
Boil herbs in 2 cups of water on high heat. (DO NOT
use metal pans! instead use an old coffeepot!)
Lower heat to low and steep for 2 hours-strain- Mix
the strained liquid w/ the shampoo in a 1:1 ratio- if
you want a darker color use more rosemary and cloves.
Pour into bottles. Let sit over night and add a few
drops of essential oils for fragrance!

~Herbal Hair Rinse~
* use herbs such as lemon
verbena,geranium,sage,rosemary,lavender,rose, or

Strain-After shampooing and conditioning hairpour
over towel dried hair- no need to rinse!

Mix ingredients together to form a creamy paste.
Massage on to face and throat. Allow mixture to
remain on for 5 min.,rinse.
Do only store dry mix in a tin or jar!

* To make sunflower sead meal- Grind 3/4 C. of large
hulled seeds in blender or food processor until the
texure is like parmesan cheese--makes 1/2 cup.

Store in a ziploc bag or jar or tin.

* 1 1/2 tsp. cornmeal

careful if you have sensitive skin! Make as needed,
do not store!

~Peaches & Cream Glow Mask~
* 1/2 very ripe small peach, peeled
* 1 tbsp. heavy cream
Mash peach and combine w/ cream until smooth. Apply

(mask may be runny so tie hair back! This is great
for very dry skin!
If your thirsty blend 1 peach,a dab of honey,ice and
milk to make a refreshing smoothie! :)

~Foot Scrub~
* 1/4 C. ground oatmeal
* 1/4 C. cornmeal
* 1 tbsp. salt
* Essential Oil of peppermint or lemon

Combine dry ingredients w/ enough water to make a
creamy gritty consistancy. massage into feet,rinse
and dry.
A large amount of dry ingredients can be made ahead
and stored!

~Sandalwood Powder~
* 1 lb. base powder*
* 1 vanilla bean, choppedd into 1/2 inch pieces
* 1 oz. powdered benzoin gum(available at health food
store)
* 1/2 oz. essential oil of sandalwood
Combine all ingredients except for ol into blender or
food processor. Blend 30 seconds or so. Mix oil with
a few tbsp. of powder and then mix well with rest of
powder mixture. Put into an airtight container and
shake! Put back in blender for 30 more seconds. Store
in a cool dark place for 3 days so that the oil can
permeate the powder. Use as any body powder!

* 1/2 C. baking soda
* 1/2 C. salt
* 15 drops favorite essential oil
Pour baking soda and salt under running water, when
tub is full add essential oil!

* 1 C. glycerin soap base melted

~Tea Tree Antiseptic Soap~
* 2 C. glycerin soap base,melted
* 2 tbsp. tea tree oil
Melt glycerin over low-med heat, combine w/
oil,stirring util well blended, pour into molds &

~Oat & Barley Soap~
This is a good soap for both dry & oily skin...very
nourishing!
* 1/4 C. oatmeal
* 1/4 C. rolled barley
* 1 C. glycerin soap base,melted
* 1/4 C. grain slurry**
* 1/2 C. crushed or powdered oatmel (you can make
powder in the blender)
* 1 tsp. barley power (see note above)
**To prepare grain slurry- cook (the regular) oatmeal
and (rolled) barley in 1/2 C. boiling water at med
heat for 15 minutes. Cool and place in a double layer
cheesecloth. Squeeze out & collect as much liquid
*slurry* as you can, discarding remaining grains.
Mix remaining ingredients well, pour into molds and
cool.

~Lavender & Rosemary Soap~
* 3 C. glycerin soap base,melted
* 1/4 C. infusion of lavender flowers & rosemary
leaves**
* 1 1/2 tsp. lavender oil

** To make infusion (do each herb seperate) pour 1 C.
hot water over 3 tbsp. fresh or dried herb-let sit 10
minutes,strain.
Combine soap base & herb material,stir until well
blended,pour into molds and cool!
