The Rest Is
Silence
As I lay here,
My mind is flashing
Images of my life
Faster than they actually happened.
Oh look there's the belt
My mom used to hit
Me with when I ran
Away from the pain.
I can feel the blood
As it runs out of my veins.
Mom's going to be mad
I'm staining her carpet.
I'm going to miss
The few friends I have,
my brother, my cousin
And my grandparents.
Everything is fading to black.
I wonder what it's like.
There's no turning back now, but it's the only way to end the pain
For I am dying.
No more being yelled at
No more expectations
No more crying
The rest is silence.
