POOR SHAVED KITTENS...
Sent and related by Nightsheyd

My two adorable little kittens were born on May 8 1997. Their mother was a stray that I and my roommate decided to take in, not knowing that she was pregnant. I had to help her deliver her babies, because she was having so many problems. That is probably why I loved all the kittens so much. There were two litters of three born, three long tailed kitties (Whysper, Leo, Cupid) and three half manx (Sheyd, Blue, Bob). By the time they were only four or five weeks old my roommate decided to send the Mommy to animal control, and had to tell them a lie to get them to take her, I wasn't home, so I could not stop her.

So being the only one in the house to have any love of cats I was left to take care of six kittens as if I was their mother. I loved all six of the babies, although they were very hard to keep up with. I knew I wouldn't be able to take care of them all for very long, considering my roomie wanted them out of her house. Leo and Blue ended up being promised to the neighbors across the street. But I fell completely for the two females (Sheyd and Whysper) and decided they were going to stay with me. So, two kittens left.

One day after work in July, my roomie came to me about shaving all my kitties because it was Summertime. She claimed they would be hot and needed to be shaved. I argued for about an hour with her. CATS DO NOT NEED TO BE SHAVED. That's when I found out that she used to shave her cat every year in the summer time. It's no wonder he ran away. She finally said OK, it wouldn't need to be done.

The next day when I got back home from work I was dive tackled by five bald kittens and one fluffy one attacked my ankles. All five shaved kittens worked their way up my shirt and sat there shivering for an hour. Lucky for my roomie she was at work, that gave me time to calm down a little bit. I put all the kittens in my bed under the covers. This lady keeps the air on at 65 degrees YEAR ROUND, and didn't think the kitties would be hurt by it.

When she got home we had a nice long talk. Apparently she didn't shave Bob because she was selling him to an animal store, which was interesting considering she claimed them all to be mine, hmmm. I told her then that that weekend two of them were going across the street, now that was interesting to try and explain to the new proud owners why their two kittens were bald. The only good thing I saw come out of the situation was when my beautiful kitten Sheyd decided she would rip my roomies hands and arms to shreds for doing such a thing to her, unfortunately she was the last to be shaved.

Soon after this I started packing my stuff up preparing to find another place to live. My beloved kittens are never again going to be subject to such cruelty. I still don't know if Bob and Cupid have good homes, when I left she wouldn't let me take them as well. I think she decided to sell them both, ah well, nothing can be done. But now my two little girls have all their fur back and are very happy hyper kittens as things should be.
