SPIRITUAL MACHINES Wow, what an album. I think it's the most mature group of songs I've heard in a long time. And of course, like every other OLP album, its a CD that you can pop into the player and listen to the WHOLE thing - Unlike some of the really shitty teeny-bobber music thats hitting the charts lately where you can only listen to a couple songs. I especially enjoyed the readings between songs! Right Behind You (Mafia) is brilliant. I want it to be a single, with a video and everything, but then again i would love to see the whole CD turned into singles with videos. This song also kind of creeped me out because it was so true. In Repair was the first single, and the video ROCKED. This song is one of the songs that I think was totally influenced by the book. I'm not exactly sure of the metaphorical meaning, but its a good song, only the radio stations and Muchmusic are playing it so much I don't want to listen to it too often for fear I get sick of it I heard Life at summersault2000, and fell in love with the song immediatly. It "spoke" to me I guess. And it just amazed me that OLP had the whole stadium singing along, even though nobody had ever heard it before. Happiness... This is just my view, and feelings on all the songs on the new album. Enjoy, and email me with YOUR views!! One Man Army is awesome, i've slowed down playing that song tho, cause its beginning to get overplayed. I love the idea behind the song, and even though the video looks like "eye candy", i think it really shows the meaning behind the song well. Happiness & The Fish is a really good song, I hope it becomes a single eventually, and theres a video for it. It's great to sing along with. It touched me a lot, for personal reasons. Someone on this list said something about who would buy a cd called Happiness is not a fish that you can catch.. but I think the metophorical meaning behind the title is a good one, and if you listen to the song, you would appreciate the title more. Potato Girl is an amazing song, and Its one of my favs on the new album. I think the music and the lyrics really compliment eachother. For some reason, I was looking forward to this song even before the album came out and before I heard it. Blister was a song I wasn't too crazy about at first, in fact, I admit skipping over that song a few times. But then I really listened to it. I think that despite the lack of lyrics, the ones that are there, are really good. I had the lyrics to Is Anybody Home a month before the album came out, and liked the song since then. I felt I knew the song before the album came out. I think it really describes the life that all of us live. Waited is an absolutly AWESOME song. I heard OLP play it live over the radio, and I almost cried when I heard it. I want it to become a single really bad, I want to make the video for it so bad its unbelievable. I already have most of it made up, you can see it on my website soon. This song touched me like no other song ever has. It takes 1st place over Disarm by smashing pumpkins, and 4AM(olp). This is one of those songs where I will listen to it, and feel completly different emotions each time. Thief is a very well written song. At first, I liked the lyrics more than the music, but now, I love both. I also heard Lying Awake on the radio before the album came out, and I liked it immediatly. It will probably be the next single, and I think it would be a great follow up to One Man Army. Annie is a song that everyone should listen to at least once. I could see parts of this song being played on commercials that are trying to help end teenaged violence. I also think there is an underlying message in the song. Listen to it and tell me if you hear it too. Consequence of Laughing is a song that I'll listen to forever. Whenever I program the CD, COL is within the first 4 songs I program. I almost feel as though when Raine wrote the lyrics, he was talking about me. I had looked forward to Stealing Babies, because Elvin Jones was playing in this song. To tell the truth, I hated it. Man, I hated it. But again, like Blister, I guess it "grew" on me. Now I look forward to playing it. I love how the music constantly changes. Raine's voice is absolutly amazing, and when Elvin Jones begins with the drums, it just brings the whole song together.
