The history of "Freedom From Religion": Many years ago, my Great Grandfather ran a household of three children and a wife. Money was very scarce, and my Great Grandfather had to manage two, sometimes three or four jobs at a time.
By the time Sunday rolled around, he was so tired that he couldn't bring himself to leave the house, nevermind drag himself to church. One sunday evening, the Priest of their local church made a visit to my Great Grandfather's house to see why he had been absent from church.
"You haven't been in church," the Priest said, "so I've decided to drop by to collect the offeratory money that you weren't able to donate while you were away."
My Great Grandfather explained to the Priest that he had been working many jobs to make ends meet, and that they hadn't any money to give to the church anyway.
The Priest proceeded to search the house for any loose money, until he found a bowl resting on the mantle that was filled with some small change that was to be used for groceries. The priest dug his hand into the bowl and pocketed the money, and announced his departure.
Furious, my Great Grandfather ripped the money from the priests' pocket, and booted the sorry sucker out the door.
After a period of reflection and "calming", my Great Grandfather then said, "What this country needs is freedom FROM religion!"
In a world saturated in dogma and institutional propeganda, there are a bold few who dare to say "I am who I am, and damned proud!" This webring is for site owners who object to being labeled and criticised for their spiritual beliefs and wish to speak out against narrow-minded, prejudice individuals who believe "their way" is the only way.
If you:
a) have your own web site
b) have a site is focused on your spiritual beliefs (of any nature)
c) are looking to belong to a group with similar concepts then this is the webring for you!
WARNING: If the site submitted is pornographic or prophane, it will not be accepted into the ring!
