Hanford High School Colorguard....We Rock!!!!!!

This is a page that is devoted to the Hanford High School Colorguard. Our guard has about 50 members this year. It includes three baton twirlers, a rifle squad of about 15 members, our letter girls and of course, a flag squad. We march parade and field in the fall and participate in Winterguard in the winter. This page will keep you up-dated on all of our performances as well as many pictures from each of them. We are looking forward to our winterguard season this year because our open guard will be traveling to Dayton, Ohio to participate in WGI competition. HUHS guard is led by instructor Ruben Amavisca our assistant directors, Katie and Jennifer, (field show)and Becky, Shannon, Tony and Myra (winterguard). We are a part of the Hanford High School Bullpup Band which is rapidly growing and improving every year. Watch out everyone, HUHS is moving it's way up......

UPDATE!!!

We had a great winterguard season!! We just returned from Dayton, Ohio where we had a great time, but did not score very high. We met a really kewl guard there from San Jose called Ventura Colorguard. This year our "A" guard performed a show called, "Endangered," in which they wore black body suits with printed animal skirts. Our "Open" Guard performed to selections from the soundtrack of, "Romeo and Juliet." They wore various black uniforms. Their show had a very intense feel with a moment of romance in which our very own Romeo and Juliet performed a dancing duet which brought tears to peoples eyes. (Well, at least we hoped it would!!) Our instructors, Ruben, Becky, Shannon, Tony and Myra were very helpful and patient with us as we quickly learned rifle and sabre, two new pieces of equiptment that we had not used much of before. It was a very challenging season and we had our many ups and downs, but overall, we all had a great time and were all sad to see it come and go so fast.

Well, here is a list of Parades that we attended this year. I also included the winterguard shows we competed at. We had a great season!! Can't wait until next year!!!
