Popular Cocktails

The following drinks are linked to recipes you may enjoy. Each is used at a Spector Nightclub and these drink and cocktail recipes are the same recipes used by professional bartenders.

Each drink and cocktail recipe perfectly blends the right amount of liquor and mix to make a great tasting drink. Easy to follow instructions are included to help you expertly prepare these favorite drinks and cocktails. The following drink and cocktail recipes are the ones most frequently requested. The major difference between these recipes and most of the other drink and cocktail recipes on the web is that these drinks will taste good. Many recipes on the Internet are posted by amateurs who have never worked as bartenders and have no knowledge of the art of mixology.

The glassware has been kept simple in the recipes. There are many different sizes and shapes of glasses and there are no standards. Go into five different bars, and you will be served the same drink in 5 different style of glasses. Of course, some bars have developed signature glasses for their drinks that soon become collector items. Such bars have to charge a high price to cover the cost of the glasses that are lost. All glassware is broken (no pun intended) down into five major categories.

  1. Stemmed-used for drinks that are pre-chilled. When a drink recipe calls for a stemmed glass, the drink always has to be pre-chilled before pouring into the glass.
  2. Old Fashioned, rock, or bucket are used for drinks that are not pre-chilled. Fill these glasses to the top of the rim with ice cubes.
  3. Highball, Cooler, Collins, or chimney are names for the same type of glass. These glasses are used for multi liquor and mix drinks. Fill these glasses to the top of the rim with ice cubes.
  4. Wine- there is two basic types red and white. White wineglasses are usually longer and narrow than red.
  5. Shot glass, shooter or cordial are used for shooters or after dinner cordials.
