About Steve Baldwin
Steve Baldwin was born and raised in San Diego. Steve and Patty
live in El Cajon and have three boys. He was
elected to the State Assembly in 1994 after a hard fought campaign with
the sitting Democrat incumbant. In 1996 Steve was the Chairman of the
Assembly Education Committee and started on his role as an education
reformer. Steve has authored many bills that would have lifted the
cap on Charter Schools. The class size reduction bill that lowered the
size of K-3 classrooms was Steve Baldwin's. He also authored legislation
setting the
Academic Standards Commission that is redefining California's standards
for reading, math and science.
Steve Baldwin represents the 77th California State Assembly District
which inclues all of or portions of Chula Vista, El Cajon, La Mesa, Bonita,
Spring Valley, Lemon Grove, Paradise Hills and National City.
