THIS PAST WEEK
(November 8, 2009)
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
This past Sunday in the SPEEDway, our Sonshiners class learned
that making right choices is not always easy, but it is something
we need to do to please God. And God will help us to do what is
right when we ask for His help.
We heard a true story about a man named Daniel who was asked not
to do something that he knew he needed to do. He was told that
if he prayed to God, he would be thrown into a den of hungry lions!
Daniel had to decide whether to do what God wanted and be killed,
or do what was wrong and stay alive! What decision do you think
he made? What do you think you would have done in his situation?

We also played a game to help us learn the difference between
making right decisions and wrong decisions. Our Sonshiners discovered
that making the right decision isn't always easy as knowing what the right decision should be. But God wants us not only
to know what is right, but to DO what is right and good, too!
During our center time, we made our own lion masks out of paper
plates! The masks can be used to help tell our Bible story at
home to friends and family!
A puzzle of Daniel was also available at one of the tables for
children to put together along with books about Daniel and the
visit he had in a den of hungry lions!

This past week we learned that God wants us to try to make good
choices -- even if making good choices is not easy to do. |
During our music time we learned a new Bible verse song. The song
was called, "Do That Which Is Right And Good". The words to this song come from the Bible. God wants us to
remember to do what is right. When we make good choices, it makes
God very happy. |
