THIS PAST WEEK
(November 22, 2009)
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
This past week in the SPEEDway our Sonshiners class learned that
God wants us to try and make good choices. He wants us to listen
and obey Him - even when obeying is hard. One way we obey God
is by obeying our parents and teachers. God helps us to know the
difference between what is right and wrong. He has also given
us the Bible to help us know how to live. We obey God when we
do what we know is right. Can you think of times when you obeyed
God? Can you think of times when you may have NOT done what God
wanted you to do?
During our group time, we heard a true story about a man in the
Bible named Jonah. God asked Jonah to go to the town of Ninavah
and bring them an important message. However, Jonah decided not
to obey God. He made the wrong choice! Jonah knew that he had
done wrong and later decided to make the right choice and follow
God's directions! You can click HERE to read the story of Jonah for yourself!
Before our story, some of our Sonshiners had fun creating our
own whales out of paper plates. The whales can be used to tell
the story of Jonah to our friends and family!
During our center time, children also put together a Jonah puzzle!
During our music time this past week, we learned a song called,
"Listen and Obey". This song reminds us how important it is to obey Jesus and do
what we know is right.
