I have tried several different kinds of tag protectors and these are the best! The flat, thin, protectors that are open at the top do not prevent folding, do not prevent water from entering at the top, the tag can come out when the beanie is played with, and most importantly, do not have an internal recess. Consequently, when the tag is inserted, the stem (the red thingy that attaches the tag to the beanie baby) will be squeezed against the tag, and will eventually cause a noticeable dent on the tag. The heavier, lockettype, tag protectors do a good job in protecting the tag. However, their weight will cause stress on the fabric of the beanie. Over a period of a couple months, especially if the beanie is handled, you will notice a larger hole developing where the tag enters the beanie fabric. The tag will be protected, but the beanie will be destroyed.
