San Diego County Board of Education
Supports"Matthew's Law"

San Diego - The San Diego County Board
of Education passed a resolution supporting "Matthew's Law" at their January
13, 1999 meeting.
California Assemblyman Steve Baldwin introduced Assembly Bill (AB) 4 in
memory of 9 year old Matthew Cecchi who was brutally murdered in Oceanside
the night of November 14, 1998. AB 4 would make the murder of a child
under the age of 14, a death penalty special circumstance.
"I am glad the San Diego County Board of Education supports the passage of
Matthew's Law", stated Steve Baldwin. "We need to show statewide grassroots
support for this legislation and for the Cecchi family."
The San Diego County Board of Education joins San Diego County and the
Cities of San Diego and La Mesa in passing a resolution supporting "Matthew's
Law". Other local government entities working on resolutions include the
cities of Oceanside, El Cajon, Solana Beach, Lemon Grove and Imperial Beach.
