Directions to the AASAR Training Center and the Sheriff's Office
Driving directions
To the San Jose Fire Department Training Center,
255 South Montgomery Street (west side of the street),
San Jose, California 95110 (located on the corner of South
Montgomery St and Park Ave,
across the street from KNTV Channel 11):
Enter from South Montgomery (use the entrance nearest West San Carlos St);
drive slowly (watching out for fire apparatus and people) towards the back,
and park near the trailers.
NOTE: All Wednesday-night meetings being at 1900.
From Interstate 280:
Take the Bird Ave exit off Interstate 280;
then head North on Bird Ave (towards the Arena/the Bay);
cross Auzereis Ave; cross Columbia Ave; cross
West San Carlos St; make a U-turn at Park Ave; and enter the Training Center.
From State Route 87 (aka Guadalupe Parkway):
If southbound on 87, take the Park Ave exit;
head west on Park Ave; make a left turn onto South Montgomery;
and enter the Training Center.
If northbound 87, take the Auzerais exit; make a left turn onto
Woz Way (staying in the left most turn lane); head north on Woz Way;
make a left turn onto West San Carlos St; make a right turn onto
South Montgomery St; make a U-turn at Park Ave; and enter the
Training Center.
Or
Take the Auzerais exit; make a left turn onto Woz Way
(staying in the left-most turn lane); head north on Woz Way;
cross West San Carlos St, and make a left turn onto Park Ave;
make a left turn onto South Montgomery St; and enter the Training Center.
To the Santa Clara County Office of the Sheriff
Headquarters,
55 West Younger Ave, San Jose, California 95110
(located on the corner of North First St and West Younger Ave):
Park across the street in the County parking lot (OK for visitor use in the
evenings and weekends without a parking permit).
Entry in the evening: after 6 pm, the doors are locked (this does change
from time to time, so look for the sign). Ring the visitor button (to the
right of the glass doors, located on the wall) to be let in; let the deputy
know you are here for the Search And Rescue meeting. The 1st floor meeting
areas/rooms are located to the left of the lobby.
From Interstate 880 (aka Highway 17):
Northbound 880:
Take the First Street exit; make a right turn onto First St;
make a right turn into the County Parking Lot;
and walk across the street to the Sheriff's Office.
Southbound 880:
Take the First Street exit; make a left turn onto First St;
make a right turn into the County Parking Lot; and walk across the
street to the Sheriff's Office.
