San Francisco Bay Area, California......Nelson Rau, a local gentleman who has been homeless and living on the streets of San Mateo for 4 years, is also an ordained Christian priest and scientific researcher/writer who, under his ordained professional name of Father Jerome, has for the last 3 years been publishing his research and writings on the WorldWideWeb, using the free computers and Internet access available at the San Mateo Library.
Recently, as a result of his website being listed with Internet search engines (like AskJeeves: "What is QUFD?") and educational/scientific agencies around the world (such as UNESCO, and the Philosophy Dept. of the Univ. of Kansas' meta-listing website of philosophical resources on the Web), Father Jerome has finally been garnering some long-overdue recognition. His website has received several awards, such as the Community Psychology Network's "Way Cool Website Award" and the Online Psychological Assessment Consortium's "Most Sane and Rational Explanation of Reality on the Web" award, as well as accolades ("Reading QUFD has changed my entire perception of reality!", a businessman; "I've seen more hypothetical speculation in the pages of Science and Physics Today than anywhere in QUFD. Everything Jerome puts forth is entirely plausible, within the laws of physics!", a retired science teacher.)
Jerome's website, at http://go.to/QUFD is billed as a science education textbook for 5 year old "scientists" who will have their first Doctorate by the age of 10. It ranges across multiple fields of science, philosophy, psychology, economics, society, human relations and much more, reading like the old bestselling book, "How Things Work!", except that the main philosophical and scientific topic being discussed is the human Mind and Consciousness, detailing exactly all the dynamical workings of the Mind and more. Much of his website has been adapted from his 8,973 page (unpublished manuscript, in 2nd Edition) multimedia E-book entitled, "KNOWING: The Quantum Physics of Consciousness, Life & Reality!"
As a homeless person on the streets of San Mateo, Jerome has also been holding informal evening meetings of other homeless and non-homeless intelligentsia on a downtown San Mateo street corner plaza, where the philosophical discussion of any and everything, based upon the precepts of his Works, takes place irregularly as "Warm Summer Nites with Jerome" (See also Philosophy and John Lennon.)
Jerome/Nelson credits his 18 years (following a 1982 bankruptcy) as a moneyless, free and independent homeless person with enabling him to pursue his research and writing, which allowed him to "Give Unto Others" that which was his to Give (quantum physics and more) and he looks forward to continuing to humbly Serve humanity, although some day as a non-homeless person. He also adds, "Having no need for money has allowed me to be Who and What I was born to be - myself and a Servant unto all, as well as enjoying Life doing so!"
He also says, "I work hard at what I do. Most people who are employed at "jobs", working for others, don't know what it is to work hard, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They live the "good" (lazy) life. I work hard, "Doing Unto Others, as Others might Do Unto Me", giving of what is mine to Give - that which I was born to do and that which only I am qualified to do. It is called, "Living one's Life to the fullest, under whatever the circumstances, in order to contribute to the whole of humanity". Thusly, even though I am homeless, I can enjoy and cherish what I do and what I have Given to Society!"
