About My Ratties!
All of my rats are seperated by sex in two huge 4 story cages. Don't
worry, they are not at all crowded. I give them hammocks to sleep in (old
rags hung from the top of the cage), discarded kleenex boxes, toilet-paper
tube rolls, and lots more toys. The bedding is Sani-Chips, Carefresh, and Gentle
Touch all mixed together.
Star:
Star is my oldest rat. He is going to be 6 years December 97'! Star is a
black and white capped male. He has won 2 best pet ribbons. Last year he got EXTREMLY sick. He was so
sick that he couldn't even walk, or breathe. He was on his death bed. But
then a miracle happened. I got home one day and he wasn't in his little basket
on the top of my bed where I had left him before I went to pottery class.
I searched my room frantically. Can you guess where I found him? Under my
bed asleep! I woke him up, and found that he could not only walk, but his
face was clean, and he was no longer wheezing! I truly think that his
recovery is a miracle from above... Update: Star recently passed away. He
never made it to 6 years. May his little soul R.I.P.
Princess Anna Karinaha:
Anna- as I call her- is a beautiful russian blue female. She is almost 3
years, and is going strong. She hasn't won anything in the shows, but
I love her just the same. Update: Anna is looking a little more weary every
day.. I worry about her, but I know what will happen, will... happen. Eventually.
She isn't sick, just kinda rickety lookin'. My little gray granny rat. :o)
Ivory & Mackenzie:
Ivory and Mackenzie are my two darling girls I keep in with Anna. Ivory is
a pink-eyed-white (a.k.a. PEW), and Mack is a blue/biege. They are both
very sweet girls, and will give me kisses everytime I give them a chance.
Ivory and Mack both have won best pet, and most affectionate many times.
Update: Ivory died last year, mysteriously. The week before she was as sweet
and affectionate as ever. The next, I found her dead and stiff in her cage.
It was a shock. Ivory was one of my sweetest and beloved rats. I still miss
her to this day.
Ginger:
Ginger is one of my newest rats. She is a beige and white berkshire. She is
very loving... when she wants to be! *G* Ginger is a big and healthy girl,
and I love her. I haven't taken her to any shows yet...but I know she'll
win something. Update: Ginger is still going strong! She is the dominant one
in the females cage.
Laterose:
Rose is my adorable dumbo rat. She is the cutest thing you have ever seen!
Laterose is a black and white hooded, with pretty good markings. She has won
most laid-back once at a show. Update: She's preggers!! With Starbuck's babies!
More on that later.
Hershey:
Hershey is a baby chocolate self rat. Oddly mellow and laid back for a youngin'.
Promising pet rat! :o)
Laurauna:
Auna is a beige hooded standard baby female. She seems to like Hershey and Kitiara
more than the rest of her cage mates. When all 3 of them get older, I'm moving
them into a another, 2 story cage of their own.
Kitiara:
Now this little girl is one of the cutest I have ever seen! Gorgeous
berkshire, with an odd beige/bluish tint. I don't know if it's true blue-biege
but it might be. She has dark ruby eyes, and a little white dot on her forehead.
What a sweety!
Felldoh:
Felldoh is my jumbo rat. He is almost one pound but is still a baby. He is
a badly mismarked berkshire/varigated, but being mis-marked is what makes
him cute. He is a very floppy, sweet, mellow, but bratty rat. Update: Felldoh
ain't no jumbo. He's big, but I think it's just fat. The lady I got him
from claimed he was jumbo, but she was wrong I guess. Oh well... *sniff* I
really wanted a jumbo rat... maybe some other time. :o)
Salem:
Salem is also one of my newest rats. He is a pitch black male that is only
white on the tip of his hind toes! He is a very mellow floppy boy too, which
is surprising considering he is only a baby. He has the most shiny coat I
have ever seen, and has very large comical ears. :o)Update: A few weeks ago, we were at
a rat show, and Salem and Felldoh got into a fight. He bit off part of Felldoh's
ear. So we dubbed Salem, Mike Tyson. Heheh! No offence Mikey... grr...
Starbuck
Starbuck is a beige hooded dumbo male. About 4 months. Extremly mellow and
floppy. Mated him with Rose, and I can't wait to see what dumbo babies look
like! *S*
Farfignewton
Yay! Another dumbo! But guess what? Farve's a rex! A b/w hooded rex. Absolutely
adorable!! Still young.
Go home!
