12 YEAR OLD TWIN STARS MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN HAVE BEEN ACTING SINCE THEY WERE LITTLE BABIES. NOW ENTERING THE SEVENTH GRADE, THEY WORK CERTAIN WEEKS OUT OF THE MONTH AND CERTAIN MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR. DURING THESE TIMES THEY GET TUTORED SO THEY DON'T GET BEHIND WITH THEIR SCHOOL WORK. THE REST OF THE TIME THEY GO TO SCHOOL WITH NORMAL KIDS WHO TREAT THEM JUST THE SAME AS ANYONE ELSE. THE TWINS ARE GENERALLY HAPPY WITH THEIR LIVES, ALTHOUGH THE STRESS OF THEIR CAREERS AND THEIR MANY FANS CAN SOMETIMES BE OVERWHELMING, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE GIRLS ARE SO SHY. THEIR PARENTS MAKE SURE THEY ARE WELL ADJUSTED, CONTENT, AND MAKE SURE THEY KEEP A HUMBLE ATTITUDE.
WHEN THEY'RE NOT WORKING ON A SET OR AT SCHOOL OR BUSY WITH AN INTERVIEW OF SOME SORT, THEY HAVE FUN WITH THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY EVERY CHANCE THEY GET. OF COURSE, IT ISN'T ALWAYS FUN AND GAMES. EVEN THE MOST FAMOUS TWINS IN AMERICA HAVE CHORES TO DO AND HOMEWORK TO FINISH. THEY EARN UP TO 7 DOLLARS A WEEK FOR DOING THEIR CHORES. THEY DON'T GET TO HAVE WHATEVER THEY WANT.
IN THEIR SPARE TIME, THEY ARE VERY ACTIVE OUTSIDE OF THEIR WORK. THE TWINS ENJOY TAKING PART IN THEIR MANY HOBBIES.
THEY BOTH PLAY SOCCER, BASKETBALL, AND SOFTBALL. THEY ENJOY GYMNASTICS, SWIMMING, AND ROLLERBLADING. THEY WERE BOTH GIRLSCOUTS, TOO. BOTH TWINS LOVE TO READ, ESPECIALLY CLASSICS! ASHLEY AND MARY-KATE BOTH PLAY THE VIOLIN. MARY-KATE TAKES HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS; ASHLEY TAKES VARIOUS DANCE LESSONS INCLUDING BALLET AND HIP HOP. IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THEY HAVE TIME TO DO ALL THESE OTHER ACTIVITIES, BUT IN FACT THEY DO. THEY HAVE TIME FOR RELAXATION AND THEIR PARENTS MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT OVER-WORKED SO THEY CAN STILL HAVE A REGULAR KID LIFE. MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY ARE VERY HAPPY AND LOVE WHAT THEY DO. THEY WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!
>From Disney Sightings On WOW! Online for June: --Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen; stars of the popular new Disney's Once Upon a Time with Mary-Kate and Ashley, as well as numerous musical home videos, were spotted hanging with their family at the beach last week. They seem especially close with their mother, Jarnie. Their mother commented, "They are as regular as can be. If they weren't, or were the least bit unhappy, they wouldn't do it. We are constantly making sure they truly want to go ahead with each and every project. We've also hired social workers and nannies when they appear in public, to assure the twins' well-being. The twins are quite close with them. We want the best for our kids. They do it for themselves, not us." And it certainly seems the truth! The girls have had excellent parenting, that's for sure. In addition to nannies and social workers, there's people who manage Mary-Kate and Ashley's income. "The parents do not take a percentage of the twins earnings for themselves; it is placed into trust until Mary-Kate and Ashley are 18," says the twins' current lawyer.--
