Letter from Nigel: Summer 2005

Hi everyone, sorry it's been awhile since I have been in touch, but I am sure that those of you who keep up with our movements are aware that we just got back from a seven week whistle stop tour of Europe, including a fantastic LIVE 8 show, plus a show the same night in Dublin, then in Philadelphia at the 4th of July celebration performed to appoximately a million people, which was pretty amazing, then we went back over to Europe again. We are having a fab old time. One of the highlights of the UK segment was playing football (soccer) stadiums and our support act was British pop icon Lulu ("To Sir With Love"). I must say that she still rocks and I still have a major crush on her. I've always been a great fan since her first record "Shout" came out way back when.

We have just been rehearsing for the Captain Fantastic 30th anniversary show in New York in September. We had Adam Chester sitting in playing piano and singing lead vocal while Elton was doing other work. It is going to be great for Davey and I to play songs we recorded 30 years ago that we haven't played in a very long time. We do have a single out, "Electricity," which I played on. It is one of the songs featured in Elton's West End show in London called Billy Elliot.

We are now off to Vegas to do a week of the Red Piano shows. We enjoy being in Vegas and the show is a lot of fun. It's always good to see familiar faces in the audience and please know that you are much appreciated. I have some time off in August with my family and then we are touring in the U.S. Stay tuned. Finally, Happy Birthday to our dearest Noreen. We thank you Noreen for the incredible amount of work of you do and more importantly how much of your heart is in there.

See you all on the road.

Love,
Nigel
