Rebecca St. James. A talented
singer who started her first cd at age fourteen, a beautiful
voice and a gift from GOD. She doesn't just talk the talk, she walks the
walk of her career.
Every year, Rebecca goes to Romania to help children and
families in Romania. She does it all there. From making sandwiches for families
and doing dishes, to going into sewers to play with children in
their so called, "houses". While she's there, she
does everything for others, 24/7. No singing (Which must be a
stuggle for her!) and no talking about herself, no worries about herself.
She's putting others before her. We may think, "Oh just a
missions trip what's such the big deal about it?". She
preaches and teaches and feeds families all out of her
own pocket.
Two whole months, no touring, nothing. All that time she's
in Romania. In the April issue of magazine Brio she was interviewed
about her Romania experience. She tells us about how
heartbreaking it is to see people living on the streets.
"...little children, teens, adults, and entire families
living right on the streets. The lucky ones find a canal to live in.
People who haven;t been here would call then sewers-it
really is a sewer..." Rebecca says as she explains to
us her experience.
She really enjoyed spending time with the leaders and
children. She said she bought the Sister Act soundtrack and
taught the kids and leaders the songs and choreography.
Rebecca states if she had to quit music now she'd probably be there, in
Romania.
I'm going to stop here. Because if I keep going I will probably go on and on and ON.
If you wanna read more, get the Brio magazine at a local Christian store,
it cost me less than $2.
Okay you guys. You read my little summary of the Brio article
that I have made up. You may be having the "so what?" impression, but
just think...would YOU ever do that?
