Boy George's B-Day Bash!

The Birthday Boy celebrated his 34th birthday on June 23 in true diva style. (He was busy touring Brazil on his actual birthday.) Three thousand people filled Bagley's London, all dressed in glittering costume. The party's theme, "A Midsummer Night's Dream," (complete with a life-sized model of Stonehenge) turned out a mixture of fairies, elves, pagans, and hippies. Not one to be outdone, of course, George fashioned himself in a big afro wig and Lennon-esque glasses while glitter encircled his magnificent baby blues. (Ed. Note: Now wouldn't I kill for a picture of that! ) One of More Protein's licensees (who shall remain nameless on payment to us of a small fee) along with several other hopeful revellers was denied admission for violating the strict dress code. Another licensee lost his frocks completely. (We're not divulging details of that either, but I can tell you that his virtue was not compromised...much.) Eve Gallagher, in Queen of the Fairies garb, took the stage and rocked Bagley's with a live, four-song performance. And as if being invited to his bir thday bash wasn't enough, the lucky party-goers were treated to six songs from George and his band, featuring a surprise guest appearance by Amos on Do You Really Want To Hurt Me? Now that's cause to celebrate!
