CHICAGO, Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- As the Jerry Springer Show reaches the milestone of 1,200 episodes, Jerry is reaching all-time high-ratings, and is ranked second only to Oprah among all talk shows in major metered markets. Jerry, however, beats Oprah in head-to-head competition in Cleveland, Atlanta and New Orleans.
With two days remaining in the November sweeps, Jerry is winning his time period in top markets such as WPIX New York, KCAL Los Angeles (where he defeats Leno and Letterman), WMAQ Chicago and WCAU Philadelphia. "Jerry Springer Show is often the highest rated program on a station from sign-on to sign-off," said executive producer, Richard Dominick.
To commemorate these record-high numbers and the landmark of 1,200 episodes, Jerry took his staff to a favorite local hotspot. "We had a great time. The only thing I don't understand is why they removed all the chairs," quipped Jerry. With cameras rolling, Springer, his producers and crew revisited outrageous guests, favorite fights and unbelievable moments from the past seven years and 1,200 shows.
"The 1,200th Show" will air on the Jerry Springer Show Monday, December 1st (check local listings).
The "Jerry Springer Show" is produced and distributed by Universal Television Enterprises, a division of Universal Studios, a unit of The Seagram Co. Ltd. (NYSE: VO), a global beverage and entertainment company.
