Who am I and how do I have the audacity to offer financial advice to teachers?
A good question and here's the answer.
![]()
My name is Gerald Hennings. I retired from a 30-year business career and have taught school for about 15 years in California and Hawaii. Among other activities, I have managed large American corporations overseas, been a lobbyist at both the state and federal levels, managed sales organizations in investments and insurance, and have earned my living as a writer and a soldier.
My investments now are sufficient to allow me to retire comfortably now and so I retired as a classroom teacher in 2005.
Please understand that comments contained on these pages are only my opinions and I offer the advice only because I encounter so many teachers who appear to be making very unwise financial decisions. If any ideas on these pages help anyone, that will make it worthwhile.
