Australia Day (Jan 26th) was awesome - sailed to Rottnest Island with Narelle for the day and then came back to watch fireworks from Kings Park.  Being Australia Day, everyone on the deck of the ferry got right into singing when the song "Out on the Patio WE SIT", by Midnight Oil came on.  Man, oh man, does everyone here love that song... me included!

I was lucky enough to see a quokka, (which don't live anywhere else in the world except Rottnest) but only as he crept up behind my head to steal my apple core!

Those Aussies got pretty roudy at their fireworks, chanting "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie" and singing Australian songs.  Of course watching fireworks wouldn't be complete without the wine & cheese, either!  ;)

Narelle & I cycled around the whole island (phew!), from beautiful bay to beautiful bay.  By the end I was SPOILED... oh, yeah, beautiful view...

Narelle & I sit on the beach at one of the many bays on the island of Rottnest. We took a ferry over in the morning and cycled the whole day!!
