Greg "The Hammer" Valentine

Welcome to the Greg Valentine homepage. This is an unofficial page but it was one I thought had to be made. I saw the link on a couple of pages for a Greg Valentine website. The address was something like www.gregvalentine.com but I couldn't get it to work. So the time has come for a tribute to one of the true greats of the sport.

PERSONAL MEMORIES OF THE HAMMER

I grew up watching wrestling in the early and mid eighties. While I really liked watching the show broadcast from the little Atlanta studio with three rows of fans and the flags of the world hanging in the rafters, I also liked flipping to the bigger federation where Hulk Hogan was beating up on Roddy Piper and King Kong Bundy. This was the same federation where a team managed by Johnny V was the world champions. This was, of course, Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake. Through the years I have watched Valentine including at two live events--as part of the Dream team in 1987 and against Koko B. Ware in 1995. He returned to WCW last summer and was promptly sent home with the loser's share of the purse after a Randy Savage elbowdrop and a Giant chokeslam. However, the big hammer elbowdrop got his hand raised in a bout with Billy Kidman. Hopefully he can return to semi-main event status as Jim Duggan and Kevin Sullivan have because he has just as much talent. Only time will tell.
