The Hatch - The Chicks are Born

This series of photographs was supposed to show the hatching of two fantail egg. Two things went wrong with this idea. First, one of the eggs was infertile. The other was good, but the chick got stuck in the shell and was unable to hatch naturally. After freeing the chick from it's prison, I was able to get the photos that follow. I have two new eggs and will try again to get a natural hatching in a few weeks.
