Mike's Fantail Dovecote - A Pigeon Place

This page and it's accompanying pages are dedicated to HENRY, Band Number "KOR-93-18518, the pigeon shown above. I found him injured, scared, and lost. In the three weeks he stayed with me, before recuperating and going home to his family, he rekindled my love of pigeons and the results are my fantail family, shown in these web pages.

Hello my friend. Welcome to my Pigeon Place. My name is Michael P. Exchange. I am originally from the state of Maine, in the northeastern United States. I am currently located in the Republic of Korea. I am the manager of a small military library on Camp Casey, a military installation located in the city of Tongduchon, Korea.

My Pigeon Story - How It All Started

This link entitled "My Pigeon Story - How It All Started" describes the events leading to my pigeon status (or lack of it) today. This story was first written on the Pigeon Mailing List during late April and early May. It was written in four parts because it turned out to be much longer a story than I intended. I was amazed when I received dozens of E-mails commenting on how much people enjoyed my story. It has since been published in an on-line journal entitled "In The Loft" and in a Rochester, New York pigeon club bulletin. It is also slated to be published in the National Pigeon Association Quarterly Bulletin, in an upcoming edition. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed (for the most part) living it. Keep in mind, it is quite long. Also, there is an UPDATE section after the end of the story to bring it up to date.

Photos of My Fantail Family and Me

This link entitled "Photos of My Fantail Family and Me" is some pictures of my birds, and of myself. WARNING - The human pictures at the bottom of the page may be frightening to young children. Parental discresion is advised. These will be updated as changes occur.

The Iacomacci Four Legged Pigeon

This link entitled "The Iacomacci Four Legged Pigeon" is a photo of the only (I think) four legged pigeon available on a pigeon page. I was very fortunate to have access to it.

Pigeon Family Photo Album - Raising Children

This link entitled "Pigeon Family Photo Album - Raising Children" shows the the first month in the lives of pigeon chicks. All of the pigeon web sites I have seen have wonderful photographs of adult pigeons, but none of pigeon chicks. This page will fill that void with many photos of different stages in the first month of pigeon life. This page is currently under construction and should be completed within 30 days.

The Daily Life of Gimpy and C.T.

This link entitled "The Daily Life of Gimpy and C.T." is a chronological record of the daily goings on of the first pair of child producing pigeons I had. Gimpy was a male homing pigeon, C.T. was a feral female. The circumstances leading up to my possession of these two birds preceeds the actual events described in the daily section of the text. This chronological listing of events is a bit long, and will probably be boring to many readers, but some of you will find it interesting.

The Great Flood of 1998

*****THIS SITE IS CURRENTLY UNDER REVISION*****

This link entitled "The Great Flood of 1998" is a page photographs of my office after the flood waters, which reached five and a half feet inside my office building, receded and the clean up process began. I am fortunate that I live on the second floor of my apartment building downtown, as the water was over seven feet high surrounding my building.

The ring below is entitled "The Racing Pigeons Webring." It also has some excellent sites on it. Check them out (I have not figured how to make the title of this ring link to the actual Pigeons Webring home page, but I will.)
